The event, which took place at Inspire courts Friday, April 30th through Sunday, May 2nd, and showcased a total of 67 teams ranging from ages 15 to 17U. Several players used the event to put their names and games on scouts and coaches’ radars. In this article, we take a look at some of the top sleepers from the event.
Royce Ramos Royce Ramos 6'5" | PF Rancho Solano Prep | 2023 State AZ 6’5 SF PAL Elite 2023 (#39PHA 2023) (featured image) – It was a good weekend for Ramos. He almost falls into the positionless category, but I prefer the word versatile to describe him. He was able to score around the basket, using his frame to punish defenders, while stretching the floor with his outside shooting.
Davis Crilly 6’3 PF Wyoming Power 2022 – Crilly played well. The Bruiser post opened some eyes with his finishing ability around the rim, and his soft hands. The undersized post displayed solid footwork and was willing to rebound in traffic.
Brody Rowbury Brody Rowbury 6'11" | C Meridian | 2021 State ID 6’11 C Idaho Premiere 2021 (#5PHI 2021) – It’s difficult to think of a 7-foot stretch 5 as a sleeper, but that’s what Rowbury is. If you’re searching for size, he has it, need skill? The big man can shoot it from 3 and is an excellent passer. Right program, right fit type of player, if those two boxes get checked he is going to be a steal at the next level.
Tim Gorham Tim Gorham 6'3" | SF Eastmark | 2024 State AZ 6’2 SG UpTempo 2024 – Gorham is a scoring machine. The lighting quick 2 guard managed to put up numbers in every game he played. He’s the type of scorer that always has a knack for the ball, and doesn’t need plays run for him. The freshmen is definitely someone to keep on the radar.
McKay Anderson McKay Anderson 6'0" | PG Meridian | 2021 State ID 6’0 PG Idaho Premiere 2021 (#14PHI 2021) – Anderson certainly won’t make any All Airport teams, however, he can play. The PG can shoot the ball and is capable of changing the scoreboard in a hurry when he gets hot. He’s also a good floor general, that possesses a high IQ, and has the passing ability to create buckets for teammates.
