The new 2024 rankings are out.

This season ended up being a short AIA season, a full Grind Session season, a condensed CAA season and a longer AAU season with showcase formats.

This 2024 class will definitely be back to normal like the good old days.

Many more will slowly be added every season. Most years I have 100+ already but with COVID, I wasn’t able to see many freshman teams as a normal season.

We look at the Top-9 SFs in the 2024 class:

A good group at the top with three in the Top-10 and five in the top-26.

1. [player_tooltip player_id="994680" first="Jai" last="Anthoni Bearden"] Kellis

-The top rated 2024 currently has a lot to like. He is long with great size, athletic and defends seemingly every position. Offensively he rips through and scores it in traffic and can make perimeter jumpers. His shot blocking and rebounding are already high level and his upside is obvious.

2. [player_tooltip player_id="1064158" first="Christian" last="Warren"] Basha (Pictured)

-A skilled wing has good strength and a high IQ. He shoots it better then most in the class with range and is tough. He takes charges, rebounds well and is an outstanding passer. He was recently one of the standouts in their 15U Chip win in the Compton Magic Battle Zone tournament.

3. [player_tooltip player_id="1062311" first="Kallai" last="Patton"] AZ Compass Prep

-A quickly growing wing forward has a bright future. Every few months he seems to push out another inch or so. He takes long strides to the basket and can score it a variety of ways plus make good reads to teammates.

4. [player_tooltip player_id="1066495" first="Aeramiah" last="Binford"] South Mountain

-A long athletic wing plays inside and out. He rebounds in and out of his area and can play multiple positions on both sides of the court. The younger brother of MJ Binford has a huge upside.

5. [player_tooltip player_id="996171" first="Ezias" last="Steffen"] Chandler

-A rare varsity starter in 6A had a good season. He can shoot it comfortably from the 3pt line and rebounds well in his area. He is strong to play the 4 and is skilled enough to play the 2-3.

6. [player_tooltip player_id="996169" first="Cori" last="James"] South Mountain

-A powerful downhill scorer missed his HS season along with the rest of the Region. He is a two-sport athlete who should be an impact starter the next 3 years. It will be interesting which sport he leans on with football and basketball.

7. [player_tooltip player_id="1138527" first="TJ" last="Clark"] Mountain Pointe

-A long athlete is very good defensively. He can defend from inside and out and will play multiple forward positions. He is most effective currently inside but is starting to take his game to the perimeter.

8. [player_tooltip player_id="1124549" first="Jaelen" last="Green"] Gilbert

-A long defensive wing has a lot to offer. He was one of the recent standouts of the Bash in the Desert Prep Hoops event. He has a knack for always being in the correct spot on defense and brings a huge motor to compete. He is mostly a downhill scorer but brings so much versatility on defense. In a DEEP junior rotation and a couple sophs, don't be surprised for him to play a little on varsity next season off the bench.

9. [player_tooltip player_id="1124561" first="Mason" last="Villela"] Gilbert

-A long multi-level scorer has nice upside. He takes very few strides to get to the cup and can finish. He can shoot it from mid-range and in and plays a smart floor game. Like most Tigers, he plays fundamentally sound on the defensive end and shows upside.
