Analysis: [player_tooltip player_id="855926" first="Nathan" last="Meithof"] (2021 McNary) wasn’t expected to return as he initially transferred to RON Institute in California. But the 6-foot-5 wing is back and is the even money favorite to not only win the 6A scoring title but maybe even average as much as 25 ppg. He’ll have competition though. [player_tooltip player_id="787678" first="Lamar" last="Washington"] (2022 Jefferson) may have improved more than any other player in the state over the summer and was regularly lighting up opponents for 30+ ppg on the talent-laden Grind Session. With only him and [player_tooltip player_id="861099" first="Marquis" last="Cook"] (2023 Jefferson) back as go-to offensive players for the Demos, it wouldn’t be surprising to see both average over 20 ppg.

Three Rivers League standouts [player_tooltip player_id="861091" first="Jackson" last="Shelstad"] (2023 West Linn) and [player_tooltip player_id="606255" first="Trace" last="Salton"] (2021 Lake Oswego) should also see their scoring averages increase as they’ll be counted upon even more for offensive production. Other guys that could see a big jump in their offensive production due to graduation losses from their respective teams include [player_tooltip player_id="857342" first="Dallon" last="Morgan"] (2022 Sprague), [player_tooltip player_id="855956" first="Asher" last="Krauel"] (2021 Sherwood), Edy Essien (2021 Century), and [player_tooltip player_id="861087" first="Esyah" last="Pippa-White"] (2023 Gresham). Teams like Jesuit and Central Catholic bring back double digit scorers, but they will likely be evenly balanced with their production.
