The Class A basketball season was outstanding. A ton of memorable games and a year of twists and turns. Here is the Class A All State Team for 2020-21 at PHD.   Class A All State First Team [player_tooltip player_id="732179" first="Paul" last="Bruns"] of Dakota Valley (Sr). Bruns is the Class A Player of the Year. He averaged 28 points, 12.7 rebounds, and four assists a game shooting 41 percent from the arc despite constant attention. The Panthers earned a third place finish at the State Tournament. Bruns will play at North Dakota next season. [player_tooltip player_id="975516" first="Jakob" last="Dobney"] of Vermillion (Sr). The Tanagers ranked near the top of Class A all season and ranked third in our final Class A rankings. “Big Shot Dob” rivaled “Big Shot Bob (Robert Horry)” this year with his routine clutch makes. Scored – 20.8 point a game scoring on 54 percent of his attempts. Averaged 4.4 rebounds and 3.1 assists a game too. [player_tooltip player_id="975500" first="Brady" last="Fritz"] of Winner (Sr). A DWU commit, Fritz averaged 26.4 points and five boards a game making over half his shots as a guard. A 42 percent three point shooter as well. Led Winner to the state tournament and a top ten ranking all season. [player_tooltip player_id="732203" first="Colin" last="Rentz"] of Dell Rapids (Sr). Rentz just committed to Northern State after averaging an impressive 17 points, 7.3 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 2.5 steals a game shooting 54 percent as a guard! Led his team to the state tournament including that statement win over previously undefeated Dell Rapids. [player_tooltip player_id="975509" first="Kelton" last="Vincent"] of Sioux Valley (Sr). Kelton led his team to the state championship game and a 23-2 record with a 16 point, six assist, two steals per game average shooting an impressive 44 percent from the arc and 91 percent from the foul line.   Class A All State Second Team [player_tooltip player_id="963742" first="Isaac" last="Bruns"] of Dakota Valley (Soph). Bruns helped Dakota Valley go 22-3 for the season including a third place finish at state. Bruns averaged 22.8 points and 6.3 rebounds a game shooting an outstanding 54 percent from the field as a guard. [player_tooltip player_id="812206" first="Tash" last="Lunday"] of Flandreau (Jr). Tash was one of the most unstoppable forces in Class A basketball this year battling to 21 points and 10 rebounds a game. Led his team to 16 wins. [player_tooltip player_id="812209" first="Cael" last="Lundin"] of Tea Area (Jr). Cael averaged 19 points, 5.5 boards, and 2.5 assists a game leading Tea Area into a constant spot in the Class A top ten. One of the top junior prospects in the state. [player_tooltip player_id="975512" first="Xavier" last="Van Beek"] of Sioux Falls Christian (Sr). Van Beek put together a 16 point, 3 assists a game season for the state champions of Class A basketball. Signed with Dordt to play next season. [player_tooltip player_id="963744" first="Oliver" last="Vincent"] of Sioux Valley (Soph). Helped the Cossacks to a second place finish at state and a 23-2 record on the year. Oliver averaged 20.7 points and four assists a game shooting an impressive 48 percent for the season.   Class A All State Third Team [player_tooltip player_id="757844" first="Dillon" last="Gestring"] of Vermillion (Sr). Another very important piece to a undefeated regular season, Gestring averaged 13 points and five boards a game shooting 56 percent from the floor. [player_tooltip player_id="757863" first="Drayton" last="Priebe"] of Chamberlain (Sr). Priebe led Chamberlain to state with an impressive 18 points, 4.5 rebounds, and four assists a game. He was a playmaker for a Class A top ten team. [player_tooltip player_id="975510" first="Tyler" last="Prins"] of Sioux Falls Christian (Sr). Prins had an outstanding state tournament pairing with Van Beek and Van Donkersgoed leading his team to the state championship. The two way big playmaker was also All Dak XII second team honored. [player_tooltip player_id="975506" first="Noah" last="Van Donkersgoed"] of Sioux Falls Christian (Sr). Noah averaged 17 points and five boards a game shooting 60 percent for the Class A state championship Sioux Falls Christian team. [player_tooltip player_id="975503" first="Ryan" last="Wojcik"] of St. Thomas More (Sr). Ryan combined skill and toughness to give the Cavs 13.5 points and six rebounds a game. Efficient player that shot 56 percent from the floor.   Class A All State Fourth Team Juron Adams of Tiospa Zina (Jr). Adams averaged 24 points and eight boards a game shooting 56 percent from the floor for a squad that won 13 games this year. Derek scored 16 plus a game on the wing leading his team to 14 wins this season, West Central is a team that was in the Class A top ten for different parts of the year. [player_tooltip player_id="963754" first="Caleb" last="Hollenbeck"] of St. Thomas More (Soph). Hollbeck was the main playmaker for the state consolation champs and the team we felt was second best in Class A hoops. [player_tooltip player_id="975507" first="Gray" last="Imbery"] of Aberdeen Roncalli (Sr). Imbery gave his team everything he had to get them to nine wins. Averaged 18 points and seven boards a game. [player_tooltip player_id="975528" first="Jace" last="Kelley"] of Custer (Sr). Jace led Custer to 13 wins and the Sweet 16 even if it meant putting his team on his back at times. Kelley averaged 23.5 points and 6.2 rebounds a game.
