Micah Hoover, Atlanta XPress Black 2023 (King’s Ridge)
At the DT Invitational – Hoover was a man amongst boys in frontcourt battles for this tremendous 2023 group, so big and strong at 6-5 or so he adds exceptional athletic ability to outjump as well as overpower opponents, another elite rebounder who gets up and down the floor in a hurry and will rim-run and throw one down on you if you don’t watch your head.
Dillon Fulwood, Atlanta Xpress Black 2023 (Johns Creek)
At the DT Invitational – Great length at around 6-6, tremendous timing off the ground, gets up and down the floor with gazelle-like efficiency, an exciting finisher with good hands and sweet feet.
Fabian Desilva, PF, Quiet Storm (2022, Eagle’s Landing)
At Georgia Cup I – Like so many terrific ELHS talents all over town riding the wave of their state tile right into AAU season, man among boys this early in the season and it will be fun to see him when the competition-level rises, a tremendous mover at 6-4 with a college-ready body, owns the glass, a high-rising finisher who can both blow-by you off the bounce from the high post or jump over you for pretty conversions near the rim, looking for a big summer from this one.
KeShawn Evans, PF, Atlanta Astros (2022, Druid Hills, pictured above)
At Georgia Cup I – Showed off his defensive and rebounding chops, can be a serious rim protector at 6-6 with excellent timing and instincts, has enough of a catch and finish game in close to be a factor right now but I see that getting a lot better with reps as the primary big man for this group, the 2nd of two good-looking DHS products on this team (the other, speedy PG KaRon Strickland, was also impressive).
Tycen McDaniels Tycen McDaniels 6'7" | SF Spencer | 2023 State GA , PF, Tri-City Elite (2023, Spencer)
At Georgia Cup I – So excited when South GA talent comes up our way to the ATL-Metro, long with incredible lift at around 6-8, exciting finisher around the basket with energy and moxie, will bang on the glass and will erase shots, as perimeter shooting range increases can rapidly become a prospect potentially on the high D1 level.
Angelo McKennon, SF, ED1SA (2023, South Gwinnett, pictured above)
At Georgia Cup I – My first time seeing this impressive-looking 6-6 wing, may be a tad lean right now but had a whole slew of wow moments both driving it to the basket with his length or knocking down J’s in the mid-range, had a spirited battle going with Tycen McDaniels Tycen McDaniels 6'7" | SF Spencer | 2023 State GA of Tri-City but this is a big-time riser with all kinds of potential, an absolute must-watch this summer.
Josh Beckham, 6-5, SF, King’s Academy
At the SEBA Showcase – Strong frame with a stout lower body as well gives him plenty of power to bang with forwards of multiple sizes, nice stroke from deep but no qualms about getting dirty nearer the basket, best attribute is an athleticism which allows him to guard the perimeter or use that strength to guard the block as well.
Yannis Woods Yannis Woods 6'7" | PF Jonesboro | 2022 State GA , 6-8, PF, Georgia Fire (2022, Jonesboro)
At OTR’s The Opening – Second time getting eyes on this fascinating forward from the south side of the ATL, so much intriguing upside with his length and movement, can really get up above the rim as a finisher, rebounder or shot-blocker, looking forward to seeing him more and get a look at his perimeter face-up possibilities because that element will take him to another level, still even now a must-see for anyone traveling the local circuits.
