The upcoming 2021-22 season is full of intrigue as the Tournament of Champions looks to return. The 2023 class is overflowing with talent and it has players ready to fill in for graduating seniors. Here are the 2023 prospects ready to step into the fold right away.

[player_tooltip player_id="901957" first="Jayden" last="Lemond"], 6’3 PG Blair Academy

The Buccaneers may not have a ton of games this season due to the pandemic, but they will still have to replace [player_tooltip player_id="850502" first="Jaylen" last="Blakes"]. Lemond is ready to step in and take control of the offense as he is at his best setting his teammates up for open shots. The 6’3 guard has a nice handle and does not force the issue in the half court. Lemond is a good finisher around the basket and his size allows him to defend both guard spots. Blair Academy should be one of the top teams in the state again this season, especially with Lemond facilitating the offense.

[player_tooltip player_id="902744" first="Cameron" last="Piggee"], 6’0 PG Rutgers Prep

The Argonauts need someone to replace First Team All-State selection [player_tooltip player_id="850507" first="Noah" last="Harris"] and Piggee could be that guy. The 6’0 lead guard is confident with the ball in his hands and is not afraid of on-ball pressure. Piggee can beat his man off the bounce and is a good finisher around the rim. He is capable of knocking down open jumpers from distance and makes smart decisions with the ball in his hands. Piggee had five games last season with at least four assists and that number will take a big jump as he gets a larger role in the Rutgers Prep offense.

[player_tooltip player_id="902751" first="Cornelius" last="Robinson"], 6’6 SF Camden

The High has been rolling over the past two seasons, but they need someone to fill in for Jerome Brewer and TaQuan Woodley down low. Robinson was the team’s sixth man last season and is ready to make an impact in the starting rotation. The 6’6 forward has a motor that doesn’t stop and is tough to control on the boards. Robinson has a nice touch around the basket and his range extends out to the three-point line. [player_tooltip player_id="992524" first="Aaron" last="Bradshaw"] is another 2023 prospect to watch alongside Robinson as the Panthers look to take home the TOC.

Jackson Tindall, 6’6 SF/PF St. Peter’s Prep

The Marauders have been one of the top teams in Non-Public A North over the last two seasons and they should get a boost from Tindall. The 6’6 forward moves well within the flow of the offense and does not force shots in the halfcourt. Tindall knows how to get position down low, but can also knock down jumpers on the perimeter. He is a strong rebounder and his combination of length and athleticism allows him to defend multiple positions. Tindall is ready to break out onto the scene and it should happen during his junior season at St. Peter’s.

[player_tooltip player_id="1013422" first="Tyler" last="Bey"], 6’8 SF St. Benedict’s

The Grey Bees are one of the top teams in the Garden State, which allows Bey to step into a bigger role. The 6’8 forward has a good handle and can finish in a variety of ways around the basket. Bey sets his feet before he shoots the ball and his range extends to the three-point line. He skies for rebounds on both ends of the floor and has the potential to be a versatile defender. Bey should see his stock rise in a big way as he gets more comfortable within St. Benedict’s offense.

Other Prospects to Watch:

[player_tooltip player_id="1150260" first="Tyleel" last="Hall"], 6’3 CG Olympus Prep

[player_tooltip player_id="1013074" first="Chris" last="Santner"], 6’8 PF Roselle Catholic

[player_tooltip player_id="1013068" first="Corey" last="Miller"], 6’1 PG Pennington

[player_tooltip player_id="1150465" first="Tavian" last="Pullock"], SF Montclair Immaculate

[player_tooltip player_id="902741" first="Elijah" last="Gertrude"], 6’0 PG Hudson Catholic
