Standout Performances

Trae Leak | PG | Leander Glenn (2022)

Leak couldn’t miss in Glenn’s huge win over Boerne-Champion where he connected on 7 three-pointers and ended the game with 33 points. The junior guard was electric as a shooter from the wing spot and was even more clutch from the free-throw line where he nailed 12-of-12 shots, including 6 makes in the fourth quarter.

Aaron Bizzell | SG | Georgetown (2021)

Bizzell went off in Georgetown’s win over Jefferson dropping 32 points. The senior guard continually made big-time plays for the Eagles including a buzzer-beating shot and 15 second-half points. Bizzell is a warrior on the court who plays with a non-stop motor and it’s showing up in Georgetown’s successful playoff run.

[player_tooltip player_id="1039047" first="Jaylen" last="Thompson"] | PG | Leander Glenn (2021)

Thompson’s play was crucial in Glenn’s victory as he netted 23 points by living off of contested layups and making clutch free throws. An underrated guard in the 2021 class, Thompson has great size and physical ability and he did a good job of playing tough defense, finishing in transition, and drawing fouls to get easy buckets at the charity stripe.

[player_tooltip player_id="1027617" first="Jaden" last="Williams"] | PG | Hendrickson (2021)

A lightning-quick point guard who can get into the paint at will, Williams blew by Anderson on his way to 21 points in Hendrickson’s victory. The Boston College commit, for both football and basketball, has the Hawks rolling in the playoffs and is a key playmaker who pushes the pace and does a good job of keeping the offense moving.

[player_tooltip player_id="773413" first="KJ" last="Adams"] | PF | Westlake (2021)

Adams continues to be an unstoppable force on the court for Westlake, and the Kansas commit put up 20 points, 4 rebounds, and 8 assists in the win over San Antonio Johnson. Adams showed off his passing chops with some crisp and accurate passes to teammates for open shots, as well as nailing tough turn-around jumpers in the mid-range and showing off his shooting range.

[player_tooltip player_id="1027623" first="Shane" last="Johnson"] | SG | Johnson (2021)

Johnson put up his best effort in the Jags’ tough loss to Westlake, dropping 23 points including several makes from beyond-the-arc. Johnson is super physical at the point of attack and was able to create shots for himself and his teammates. He also displayed some NBA range shooting ability and wasn’t afraid to pull the trigger with pressure in his face.

Ja’Kobe Barkley | PG | Harlan (2021)

Harlan had a lot of key contributors in their win over Warren, but no one was more clutch than senior point guard Ja’Kobe Barkley who put up 15 points. Barkley is a physical point guard who isn’t afraid to get to the basket and battle through contact. He also hit some clutch free throws down the stretch and was a leader on the court for the Hawks.

[player_tooltip player_id="1008529" first="Jordan" last="Mason"] | PG | Clark (2022)

Mason put on a clinic in the second half of the Clark-Bowie game, from scoring clutch buckets to creating turnovers and bringing down boards. His best play of the game came on an incredibly tough game-winning pull-up jumper at the elbow over Bowie’s 6’9" center Nathan Thompson as time expired. Mason has terrific handles, plays under control, and is money in the mid-range game. The junior point guard finished the game with 14 total points for the Cougars.

[player_tooltip player_id="958898" first="Xavier" last="Kirk"] | SG | Warren (2022)

Kirk showed off why he is one of the top players in San Antonio for the 2022 class, scoring 18 points in a tough loss to Harlan. Kirk has a great frame for the shooting guard position and displayed some nice shooting ability in the mid-range and from deep, as well as creating space for his jumper with some good handles.

[player_tooltip player_id="892137" first="Jaylen" last="Crocker Johnson"] | PF | Warren (2023)

Crocker Johnson was making plays left and right for Warren and ended up with an impressive stat line of 9 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Crocker Johnson is a natural on the court who plays great aggressive defense, has several offensive moves, and can even bring the ball up as a 6'7" forward.
