<p>The opening round is in the books and it was a great day of basketball. Four teams are advancing to day 2 and four teams finished their seasons. Make sure you tune in Tuesday for the semifinals.</p>

<p>Let us take a closer look at the top performers from day 1..</p>
<p><strong>Mason Bogart (2021) |6-1 G| Sargent County</strong> – 17 points and 3-3 FT’s. Mason has solid handles. I really liked his hesitation move. He had a nice O-board put-back for a basket. Mason made a cut into the middle of the zone and he finished the play with a sweet fade-away jump shot.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="750160" first="Jase" last="Crockett"] (2021) |5-8 G| Northern Cass</strong> – 26 points, 6-6 FT’s, 2 triples. He had a stellar start to the game and scored 11 in the first quarter. Jase has an effortless shot. His mid-range jumper was outstanding tonight. He had multiple tough finishes at the rim with defenders surrounding him. Jase put in multiple off-balance shots that showed how great his focus is. One of his 3-pointers came from NBA range. Jase also dropped dimes when attacking the basket.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1046335" first="Kolby" last="Vander Wal"] (2021) |6-1 F| Northern Cass </strong>– 13 points, 1-2 FT’s. He is an athletic forward. Early in the game, Kolby had a crafty post-move followed by a slick finish. He had a nice O-board put-back for a basket. I like the way he cuts in front of the defense. Kolby had an awesome step-through move that split the defenders and he finished it with a layup. This lefty has a nice touch around the rim.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="731878" first="Noah" last="Swenson"] (2021) |6-5 F| Oak Grove</strong> – 23 points and 11-11 from the line. He was more than impressive for the free-throw line tonight. Besides being perfect from the line, he helped seal the victory and ice the game. Noah was an “AND 1” machine tonight. I like the way he jumps stops in the lane and how he gathers himself before he goes up for a shot. Noah had a very impressive pocket pass from the elbow. I liked his turnaround jump shot.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="731867" first="Gavin" last="Keller"] (2021) |6-9 F| Kindred</strong> – 10 points, 4 rebounds, 3 blocks. On a couple of the shots that he blocked, he was looking like Dikembe Mutombo. He showed his mobility when he tracked down an O-board and put it in quickly for two points. Early in the game, Gavin had a physical post finish while being double-teamed. He showed his shooting ability with an elbow jumper.</p>
<p><strong>Austin Bladow (2021) |6-3 F| Hankinson</strong> – 20 points, 4 rebounds. He was good around the basket. I like the way he moves without the ball. Austin did not back down from the larger Viking defenders. He played with great heart and he gave maximum effort.</p>
<p><strong>Robert Adam (2021) |6-3 F| Lisbon</strong> – 12 points, 2-4 FT’s. He is a physical post player. I love the way he seals around the basket. Robert has a nice midrange jump-shot. This lefty is not afraid of contact. Robert has good feet when moving around the paint. I like his aggressiveness.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="750165" first="Joshua" last="Dixon"] (2021) |6-5 F| Central Cass</strong> – 18 points, 4-7 FT’s. He was great rebounding tonight. Josh is a tough and hard-nosed player. He has great finishing ability. I like his motor; josh keeps going and going. He is relentless. Josh makes his teammates better by doing the little things correctly.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="731910" first="Max" last="Kobbervig"] (2021) |5-10 G| Central Cass</strong> – 12 points, 2 triples. All his points came in the first half. He attacked the basket well tonight. He did not force anything and let the game come to him. In the second half, he had a sneaky steal and sweet assist to a teammate for 2 easy points. Max is the floor general for the Squirrels. </p>
