FIRST TEAM

Player of the Year: [player_tooltip player_id="962491" first="Ashton" last="Hermann"], Ballard (2022)
Stats: 16.2 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 3.3 steals, 51.4 FG%, 73.3 FT%

Hermann was named a second-team all-state player by the IPSA, something that we certainly disagreed with. An electric guard who impacts the game in a major way on both ends of the floor, he led a Bombers team that was ranked #1 for a majority of the season in scoring and did so at a remarkably efficient clip. He’s primed for a big summer that should see him grab some mid-major offers.

[player_tooltip player_id="678937" first="Emarion" last="Ellis"], Assumption (2021)
Stats: 17.0 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.8 steals, 1.2 blocks, 78.2 FT%

Ellis probably would’ve been our POY if he hadn’t missed 12 games with a wrist injury. The Texas signee really emerged this year as a gifted playmaker, setting up his teammates with excellent passes, showing off his improved court vision. He was outstanding at the state tournament, shooting it much better from 3 than he did throughout the regular season. The long, athletic guard makes a major impact on the game on both ends of the floor. The Longhorns are getting a high upside player with a ton of potential.

[player_tooltip player_id="796112" first="Connor" last="Drew"], Ballard (2021)
Stats: 15.5 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.2 steals, 51.4 FG%

The second Bomber to land on our first team, Drew was huge on both ends of the floor for Ballard all four years of his varsity career. An efficient scorer who can stretch the floor and dominate in the paint, he’ll head off to Winona State for his college ball.

[player_tooltip player_id="796144" first="Luke" last="Rankin"], Dallas Center-Grimes (2021)
Stats: 13.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, 8.3 assists, 2.4 steals, 47.9 FG%, 39.1 3P%, 77.3 FT%

Rankin established himself as one of the state’s elite point guards over the last four years, and he led 3A in assists per game at 8.3 a night. Perhaps even more impressive, however, was the fact that he turned it over just 1.5 times a game, posting an incredible 5.53-1 assist-to-turnover ratio for the Mustangs.

[player_tooltip player_id="796117" first="Ryan" last="Blum"], Glenwood (2021)
Stats: 24.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 2.3 steals

The 6-3 Rams forward led 3A in scoring at 24.7 points a game and was the lone Glenwood player to average in double-figures. He also finished in the top-10 in rebounding.

SECOND TEAM

[player_tooltip player_id="682270" first="Cole" last="Glasgow"], Dallas Center-Grimes (2022)
Stats: 16.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.1 steals, 53.1 FG%

An efficient 6-3 guard who can fill it up from all three levels, Glasgow had a strong junior year for the Mustangs, leading the team in scoring and shooting 53.1% from the floor. He holds a handful of mid-major offers and should continue to rack up the college opportunities with his play this summer.

[player_tooltip player_id="796167" first="Grant" last="Nelson"], Pella (2021)
Stats: 17.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.6 steals, 48.3 FG%, 44.7 3P%, 80.9 FT%

Nelson was named the captain of the 3A all-tournament team after leading the Dutch to the state title. His 85 made 3-pointers were six more than the next closest player in the class (his teammate [player_tooltip player_id="682282" first="Karl" last="Miller"]), and seven more than [player_tooltip player_id="530135" first="Keaton" last="Kutcher"]. And he knocked down all those 3s at a high clip, shooting just under 45% from the arc.

[player_tooltip player_id="530135" first="Keaton" last="Kutcher"], Mount Vernon (2021)
Stats: 21.8 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 2.1 steals, 39.2 3P%, 80.5 FT%

The future South Dakota guard finished third in 3A in scoring, averaging just under 22 points a game, and he led the Mustangs to the substate final, despite losing a ton of production off of last year’s roster.

[player_tooltip player_id="796120" first="Justin" last="Recker"], Monticello (2021)
Stats: 14.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.6 steals, 1.7 blocks, 56.6 FG%

Recker led the Panthers to an undefeated regular season and a 3A state tournament berth despite being the smallest school in the class. An efficient forward who can score inside and out, he really improved as a ball-handler and playmaker as a senior.

[player_tooltip player_id="682292" first="Carson" last="Toebe"], Clear Lake (2022)
Stats: 19.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.8 steals

Toebe’s teammate [player_tooltip player_id="796155" first="Andrew" last="Formanek"] landed on the media’s first-team, but Toebe was the straw that stirs the drink for the Lions. He’s a tough-shot maker who is equally adept at scoring or distributing for this group.

THIRD TEAM

[player_tooltip player_id="796155" first="Andrew" last="Formanek"], Clear Lake (2021)
Stats: 17.5 points, 13.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.3 steals, 1.6 blocks, 56.2 FG%

[player_tooltip player_id="682284" first="Karter" last="Petzenhauser"], Spencer (2022)
Stats: 23.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.0 steals, 55.4 FG%, 39.4 3P%, 74.7 FT%

[player_tooltip player_id="796123" first="Kieren" last="Nichols"], Knoxville (2021)
Stats: 19.8 points, 2.9 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.7 steals, 46.2 FG%

[player_tooltip player_id="796119" first="Dylan" last="Johnson"], Western Dubuque (2021)
Stats: 16.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.0 blocks, 49.1 FG%, 43.2 3P%, 80.6 FT%

[player_tooltip player_id="682282" first="Karl" last="Miller"], Pella (2022)
Stats: 15.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.2 steals, 50.0 FG%, 42.5 3P%

FOURTH TEAM

[player_tooltip player_id="682289" first="Jevin" last="Sullivan"], North Polk (2022)
