Benilde St-Margaret’s knocked off Orono 41-38 last night in a first round playoff game. The Red Knights were led by [player_tooltip player_id="1071196" first="Charlie" last="Hansen"]’s double-double.

(1) [player_tooltip player_id="1071196" first="Charlie" last="Hansen"] (6’2 Sr Guard) of BSM. Last night’s MVP of was senior [player_tooltip player_id="1071196" first="Charlie" last="Hansen"]. This was a game where few shot the ball well so Charlie’s big makes, were closer to massive makes. When everybody in half one was struggling for both teams, Charlie hit a corner three, a runner, and a pull-up. He would then make two more threes plus put forth a great rebounding effort. Finished with a 15 point, 10 board double-double. Big game for the best BSM senior.

(2) [player_tooltip player_id="567075" first="Andrew" last="Mandel"] (6’9 Sr C) of Orono. The big impact Orono player was their center [player_tooltip player_id="567075" first="Andrew" last="Mandel"]. His ability to take away pretty much everything around the basket from BSM was key with four blocks and several deep contests. Mandel grabbed eight boards, had a couple key put-backs, and made two second half triples. Finished with ten points on 4 of 6 shooting.

(3) Daniel Ijadimbola (6’2 Jr Guard) of BSM. Daniel is BSM’s leading scorer but he had a lot of trouble finishing all over the court last night. What really excited me was that despite the off night, Daniel found other ways to contribute. He rebounded with effort (8 for the game) and passed the ball with intelligence. Made the simple ball reversal plays and attacked the cup leading to feeds. Daniel also made the biggest play of the game stealing a pass and going the other way for a dunk late in the game. Had nine points and five assists.

(4) [player_tooltip player_id="958716" first="Sebastian" last="Loder"] (6’7 Jr Guard) of Orono. With leading scorer Graham Beltrand sidelined, Orono needed some shooting in his place. Loder was able to make a couple jumpers and score four times for his ten points.

(5) Theo Pohlen (6’5 Sr Forward) of BSM. Theo scored a few times, grabbed six boards, and spent part of the game getting length on Orono bigs Madel and [player_tooltip player_id="774896" first="Connor" last="Chappell"]. Chappell had a poor day shooting and Pohlen played a hand in it.

(6) [player_tooltip player_id="850737" first="Maddox" last="Alipate"] (6’1 Jr PG) of BSM. Another talent that did his part on defense helping limit a key Orono piece (Isaiah Hagen) to a tough day while scoring six points and grabbing four boards.

(7) [player_tooltip player_id="774896" first="Connor" last="Chappell"] (6’6 Sr Forward) of Orono. The effort was there, Connor boarded nine times, and he gave it his best. Terrible day shooting in his final game scoring on 2 of 12 shots.

(8) Sam Best (6’3 Jr Forward) of BSM. Pulled down eight boards and made a three.

(9) Isaiah Hagen (6’3 Soph PG) of Orono. Had trouble finding space to score (shot 2 of 10) but was Orono’s best option in terms of creating a shot.

(10) [player_tooltip player_id="962230" first="Kyle" last="Kallenbach"] (6’0 Soph SG) of Orono. Kyle scored twice.
