<p>Prep Hoops took the drive into Marion County last night to catch a Class 2A Playoff in Swamp Fox Country. The Andrew Jackson HS Volunteers came to town to play the Marion HS Swamp Foxes. Marion HS jumped out to a 7-0 lead behind the play of [player_tooltip player_id="840198" first=<strong>"TJ" last="Sanders</strong>"] a University of South Carolina Football signee. The Volunteers battled back and took the lead at 6:09 of the 2nd quarter at 15-14. The Volunteers went into the halftime break with a 26-20 lead. </p>
<p>Andrew Jackson HS would hold the lead until the 3:01 mark of the 4th quarter when Marion Senior [player_tooltip player_id="746980" first="<strong>Mac" last="Washington</strong>"] hit a short jumper in the lane to give the Swamp Foxes a 47-46 lead. The Volunteers would prevail down the stretch outscoring the the Swamp Foxes 8-2 to finish the game off in a 54-49 victory on the road. </p>
<p><strong>Trio in the Backcourt:</strong></p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1080954" first="Ca’Darrius" last="Sowell"]</strong>,<strong> [player_tooltip player_id="1071701" first="DJ" last="Ealey"]</strong> and <strong>Tyrone Gilford</strong> were very instrumental in the Volunteers victory. This trio scored 47 points for Danny Wright’s squad. Sowell was clutch down the stretch going (4-4) from the foul line on his way to 18 points on the evening. Sowell came up big time after time scoring the ball from all 3 levels on the floor. </p>
<p>Ealey a point guard was able to get the ball into the paint or pop off a screen for a open look tonight. Ealey a pesky defender and Sowell are the leaders of this Volunteer team. Ealey fouled out late in the game while finishing with 16 points. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="840198" first="TJ" last="Sanders"]</strong> and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="746980" first="Mac" last="Washington"]</strong> both played their last games in a Swamp Foxes uniform. Sanders finished with 19 points and 16 rebounds while Washington led the way with 20 points and 8 rebounds. Sanders a University of South Carolina Football signee finished his career with over 1,300 career points for the Swamp Foxes. Sanders used his wide bodied frame inside the paint to cause problems all night long for the Volunteers. </p>

<p>Washington a rangy guard-wing is a UNSIGNED SENIOR with great academics in the classroom. The Swamp Foxes finish the year at (3-1). The Swamp Foxes didn’t play its first game until February 5, 2021.</p>
<p><strong>Who’s Next ?:</strong></p>
<p>The Volunteers will travel down to Woodland HS in Dorchester County to play the Wolverines. The Wolverines defeated Barnwell HS 63-46 last night to advance in the SCHSL Class 2A Playoffs. Andrew Jackson HS now moves to (10-5) on the year. </p>
