Still the rest of the league managed to play numerous games and those runs produced several fantastic performances from Central League prospects.

Prep Hoops is here to highlight those oustanding individual performances from southeastern Pennsylvania’s Central League (District 1).

[player_tooltip player_id="991009" first="Denzel" last="Atkinson-Boyer"] – 6’8” / Senior / Penncrest / Forward-Center: The significant muscle Atkinson-Boyer added to his 6’8” frame and skill development work he put in the off-season continues to pay dividends. He posted a double-double of 17 points and 17 rebounds, plus four blocks vs Harriton. Then Atkinson-Boyer scored 12 points vs. Springfield and another 12 points to go along with 8 rebounds in a victory over Strath Haven.

[player_tooltip player_id="1119137" first="Jackson" last="Hicke"] – 6’3’’ / Sophomore / Radnor / Wing: The sophomore starter and East Coast Power AAU standout posted 20 pts and 8 rebounds vs Springfield. Then he scored 17 points vs Strath Haven and 10 points at Garnet Valley. Still it was his 18 points and 9 rebounds effort in a win over Harriton that really turned heads. In the 3rd quarter, Hicke scored 11 straight and 13 overall in that quarter for Radnor.

Justin Langan – 6’2’’/ Senior / Garnet Valley / Small Forward: Langan put on a 3-point shooting display in the 1st half (4 threes) vs Radnor and scored 16 points overall in a GV win. He followed that outstanding performance by registering 13 vs Haverford and 20 (3 threes) in an upset of perennial Central League powerhouse Lower Merion.

[player_tooltip player_id="991216" first="Demetrius" last="Lilley"] – 6’9’’ / Junior / Lower Merion / Forward-Center: The Central League’s resident “big fella” tallied 22 points vs Strath Haven. After taking a Joel Embiid-like load management game off vs. Ridley, Lilley returned and scored 21 vs. Garnet Valley.

[player_tooltip player_id="990987" first="Lewis" last="Robinson"] – 5’11’’/ Senior / Radnor / Combo Guard: The ultra-quick combo guard and four year starter scored 14 pts vs Strath Haven. Then Tuesday night Robinson posted 19 points and in the process he surpassed the 1,000 point mark for his Radnor career.

[player_tooltip player_id="990991" first="Carl" last="Schaller"] – 5’10” / Senior / Garnet Valley / Point Guard: The reigning Central League MVP is on fire of late. Schaller posted 22 points vs Haverford and then absolutely gave Radnor the business – 33 points on 6 made threes. He followed up that ridiculous performance with 15 points in a huge upset win over Lower Merion.

[player_tooltip player_id="1119125" first="Ben" last="Stanton"] – 5’11’’/ Junior / Penncrest / Combo Guard: This Central League football standout and lockdown basketball defender recently showed he can get buckets as well. A 14 point effort vs. Marple Newtown and then 16 points vs. Penncrest were impressive offensive nights from Stanton.

Honorable Mention:

[player_tooltip player_id="991320" first="Saahir" last="Lee"] – 5’10” / Junior / Penncrest / Point Guard

Owen Mathes – 6’2/ Junior / Marple Newtown / Combo Guard

[player_tooltip player_id="1119123" first="Mike" last="Walz"] – 6’8” / Senior / Conestoga / Power Forward

Prep Hoops is going to continue to give you the best in-season content, so watch out for more as the 2021 Pennsylvania high school boys basketball season continues.
