We are less than a week away from the Cedar City Showcase. The two-day event features 16 local teams from various conferences. This exposure event comes at a great time, as it is less than a week before the official state rankings are set to be released. Many of the players from this event will land or rise in the rankings. As teams gear up to compete, we wanted to take an in-depth look at some of the programs set to compete in the event. In this article we breakdown Hard 2 Guard.

Program: Hard 2 Guard

Director: Darius Banks

Coach: [player_tooltip player_id="1020764" first="Donte" last="Turner"] SR

Top Prospect: [player_tooltip player_id="859646" first="Tavionte" last="Jackson"] 6'1 PG Las Vegas, 2022 (#4PHN 2022) - As you would expect, Jackson was dominant when they scrimmaged and showed why he's considered impossible to stay in front of on the offensive end. When they backed off of him, he knocked down jumpers. His length and rebounding ability jump out at you.

Eye - Openers: [player_tooltip player_id="928906" first="Jalen" last="Foy"] 6'5 SF Canyon Springs 2022 (#19PHN 2022) (featured image) - I'm really liking the slimmed-down version of [player_tooltip player_id="928906" first="Jalen" last="Foy"]. He shot the ball well last year at Canyon, but now his ability to put it on the floor and make plays is impressive. He shot it well last night, but it was his passing and burst to the rim that had me intrigued. He has a chance to really open some people's eyes this summer on the Prephoops circuit.

Sleepers: [player_tooltip player_id="1131465" first="Maddox" last="Polk"] 6'0 SG CSN 2022 - Polk is currently taking classes at the College of Southern Nevada. I saw a little of him during the summer, but it was good to see him up close and personal. He has a signature skill, when the lefty is shooting it well he becomes a valuable floor spacer.

Unsigned Seniors:

[player_tooltip player_id="927163" first="Dominque" last="Clifton"] Eldorado 6'2 SG 2021 (#41PHN 2021) - Like a lot of players this season, Clifton will be playing as an unsigned senior. The lefty showed that he still has the kind of athleticism and explosion to be of use to some program.

[player_tooltip player_id="996632" first="Amar" last="Smith"] 6'0 PG Legacy 2021 (#60PHN 2021) - I've always been intrigued by Smith's frame and IQ. He looks to be fitting in nicely with the group, as he showed a terrific grasp of the offense, and the ability to create for others.
