This month’s Cedar City Showcase takes place Saturday and Sunday, February 20th and 21st in Cedar City Utah. The event features 16 club teams from around the state of Nevada and offers a fabulous opportunity for the players to gain exposure. Every player participating in this event will be evaluated for the upcoming PrepHoops Rankings. Several players have a chance to rise in the rankings from their performances. In this article, we take a look at some potential stockrisers this weekend.
Anthony Pittman Anthony Pittman 6'0" | PG Bishop Gorman | 2022 State NV 6’0 PG Hard 2 Guard 2022 (#50PHN 2022) (featured image) – Pittman is moving into the range of potential scholarship player. He has put together consecutive productive performances the last few times I’ve seen him play. If he plays up to his potential, H2G will probably be one of the best teams on Saturday, and he will definitely rise in the rankings.
Lucas Walker Lucas Walker 5'11" | 155 lbs | PG Moapa Valley | 2021 State NV 5’11 PG Redcats 2021 (#46PHN 2021) – Saw Walker last week, I liked him. This weekend he’s going to go against some quality large school PG’s I want to see where he stacks up.
Kobe Kelley Kobe Kelley 5'10" | PG Lincoln Co | 2021 State NV 5’10 PG Redcats 2021 (#85PHN 2021) – I could almost insert exactly what I said about Walker, about Kelley. He has a lot of dawg in him and I want to see if he plays with the same aggressiveness that he did last weekend. If he does and is productive, the 87th in the state ranking is simply too low.
Isaiah Dahl Isaiah Dahl 6'4" | SG Elko | 2022 State NV 6’3 SG Elko 2022 (#47PHN 2022) – Dahl is probably going to rise in the rankings anyway, but he could solidify a higher spot if he continues to shoot it at a high level. With his size and signature skill, he’s going to be a hot commodity moving into the spring and summer recruiting season.
Sean Klekas Sean Klekas 6'0" | PG Elko | 2021 State NV 6’0 PG Elko 2021 (#95PHN 2021) – It’s no secret I’ve been impressed with Klekas over the last few months. Against quality competition, he has looked like the best player on the floor several times. This event will provide an opportunity for him to showcase just how absurd his number 95 ranking is. If he plays well and continues to lead Elko to some victories then he’s going to be a clear stockriser from the event.
