[player_tooltip player_id="850501" first="Bretner" last="Mutombo"] (Hamilton Heights) Ranked #11 in TN

2021, PF/C, 6-foot-10

Latest Looks: Howard and Georgia State are the latest offers for Bretner.

Andrew's Angle: Elite post defender. Unequivocally a D1 player. He will be an instant impact defender. Perhaps his offensive arsenal will improve with even more instruction.

[player_tooltip player_id="1116207" first="Dontae" last="Stringer"] (Blackman) Ranked #45 in TN

2021, SF/PF, 6-foot-8, [program_tooltip program_id='2078774' first='Tennessee' last='Panthers'] 17u

Latest Looks: Shawnee State offered this month. Cumberland University offered February 7th. Columbia State offered days later. Lenoir-Rhyne University (D2) is in contact frequently. Catawba is very nearing an offer to Dontae, per his AAU Director/Head Coach.

Andrew's Angle: Stringer, unlike his older brother DeMontay Dixon, grew up as a wing and sometimes played forward. Stringer is the primary big for Blackman High though he did demonstrate some wing skills and agility during both AAU season with the [program_tooltip program_id='2078774' first='Tennessee' last='Panthers'] and at his previous high school stop(s).

[player_tooltip player_id="983691" first="Tony" last="Sapp"] (South-Doyle) Ranked #54 in TN

2021, SF/PF, 6-foot-6, Team Passion 17u

Andrew's Angle: More wing than big now, though he can rebound and defend the college "4" if asked. Sapp has some handle and is continuing to improve his wing attacking skills. Division II floor.

[player_tooltip player_id="775568" first="Matthew" last="Thurman"] (Franklin) Ranked #69 in TN

2021, SF/PF, 6-foot-7

Latest Looks: Four Division II programs offered Matt Thurman so far: Delta State, Trevecca Nazarene, UAH, Lee University.

Andrew's Angle: High-academic. Thurman is a very unique prospect in that he can shoot from 18' in a catch-and-shoot capacity. He rebounds like a bulldog, as long as the basketball is in "his area." Though he defends the paint for Fwranklin there might be some skill at playing perimeter defense in a trap. Thurman's most unexpected skill is ball-handling. Franklin is so confident in his ball-handling and decision-making that when the Admirals face a fullcourt press Thurman is charged with dribbling it up. The added bonus to this strategy is that it pulls the opponent's rim protector away from the lane. Thurman was dinged in our rankings because he was slightly shorter than the ideal power forward at 6-foot-5, but he is now 6-foot-7 and certainly deserving of a better ranking. His intangibles and skills are so impressive. His recruitment truly could go in any direction.
