The top spot in 5A has been held down by one team almost all year long and everything after that could go either way with so many teams moving up and down. Although one Region 6 team has been playing some great basketball. Region 7 is tough from top to bottom.

#1 Timpview

The top team in 5A is led by [player_tooltip player_id="543075" first="Coleman" last="Ford"], Jake Whlin and company. They are getting some much-needed wing play from [player_tooltip player_id="934031" first="James" last="Rust"] and Nate Hansen. A complete team that knows how to play with each other They have a handful of players that can create and take over.

#2 Olympus

Huge threat because they are all so skilled and play hard. Jack Wistircill is skilled and tough. He can do it inside and out. [player_tooltip player_id="755622" first="Ben" last="Krystowiak"] is solid on both ends of the floor [player_tooltip player_id="1057020" first="Jordan" last="Barnes"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1057034" first="Dutch" last="Dowdell"] are some talented freshman. Olympus will be tough any night, especially at home.

#3 Lehi

Lehi has some guys that can get it going really quickly with Noa Gonzalves, [player_tooltip player_id="1095803" first="Peter" last="Amakasu"] and [player_tooltip player_id="933805" first="Tyson" last="Hawkins"]. This team plays hard and they have great guard play. Peter and Tyson are great prospects to play at the next level.

#4 Brighton

This team could cause a lot of problems for teams as they play a lot of 2-3 f not all the time. They are anchored by two solid big strong kids. [player_tooltip player_id="934504" first="Lander" last="Barton"] and Josh Petersen are tough. Josh is a rising prospect that continues to improve his stock and is a player that should be looked at for the next level.

#5 Mountain View

The Bruins are that sneaky team especially when [player_tooltip player_id="959019" first="Preston" last="Thompson"] is having a great game. [player_tooltip player_id="959020" first="Calvin" last="Gustafson"] is also a great prospect for the next level. The have height and guard play mixed in with some stronger big body kids down low.

#6 Timpanogos

[player_tooltip player_id="755626" first="Jackson" last="Holcombe"] is legit. He has size and the motor to play at the next level. could be an automatic D2 contributor or a stud at an NJCAA school. [player_tooltip player_id="969630" first="Bron" last="Roberts"] has a lot of potential moving forward. Timpanogos is a dangerous team.

#7 Bonneville

Bonneville has 9 players that can put the ball in the basket when they are called upon, but they are led by [player_tooltip player_id="1042364" first="Matt" last="Tesch"] and [player_tooltip player_id="968058" first="Carson" last="Jones"]. They were able to pull off an upset win over Farmington which is why they are ranked ahead of them.

#8 Alta

Alta has one of the most skilled bigs in the state on their roster in [player_tooltip player_id="755620" first="Jaden" last="Brownell"]. He can really score from anywhere on the floor. He’s the only player scoring in double figures for the Hawks. [player_tooltip player_id="968776" first="Jett" last="Lundberg"] is playing well especially on the defensive end of the floor.

#9 Farmington

Farminton is led by [player_tooltip player_id="934472" first="Collin" last="Chandler"] who is scoring at an incredible pace. He is electric in the open floor and continues to improve. [player_tooltip player_id="933806" first="Truman" last="Hendry"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1042363" first="Caleb" last="Mordue"] make up a tough trio to defend. Farmington can get going from deep that will cause teams to defend closer and this is when a player like Collin is at his best.

#10 Payson

Payson is the top team in an unproven Region 8. payson has experience with a mixture of size and shooting. Payson plays hard and they rebound the basketball. They can get out and run or play a half-court game. 6’7 Parker Larsen is a sleeper prospect, he’s a junk yard dog type that just plays hard and hustles.
