Thomas found something shooting the ball this weekend, and his best game of the weekend and of his junior season to this point came on Saturday night against Omaha Northwest. The 6’0 senior has become a better point guard throughout this season, but he went to the rim well against the Huskies, finishing with 22 points on 8-10 from the field which included 3-4 shooting from 3. Thomas has a good looking lefty shot and is also a dog on the defensive end of the floor. In addition to the nice night scoring, Thomas also chipped in 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals in a wire to wire bounce-back win for Westside.

On Saturday against Omaha South, Shakeer had 30 points and 5 rebounds for the victorious Bunnies and the most impressive display from him may have been going 12-12 from the free-throw line. The 6’3 senior guard is averaging 23 points and just under 7 rebounds a night and will continue to put up big numbers for Benson for the remainder of the year.

Possibly the most impressive stat sheet stuffing performance of the weekend went to North Star senior guard [player_tooltip player_id="890470" first="Kwat" last="Abdelkarim"] in a road victory over Grand Island. The 6’3 senior tallied 12 points, 14 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, and even a blocked shot just for good measure.
