The 2021 Maryland/DC rankings were just recently updated and it is now time to dig in a little deeper into the rankings. In this article I will be highlighting the top five combo guards from the DC area.

6’2 [player_tooltip player_id="902027" first="Jamiyl" last="Kirkland Jr."] | Friendship Tech

Kirkland is a guard that has some size to him that allows him to be effective on both ends of the floor. When it comes to talking about top guards in the city, Kirkland certainly comes to mind.

Overall ranking: No. 83

Positional ranking: No. 18

6’2 [player_tooltip player_id="902086" first="Alfred" last="Worrell Jr."] | Archbishop Carroll

Worrell is one of the top shooters in DC and is a guy that Carroll can count on a lot for buckets. If there is a WCAC season to be played this year, Worrell could be a breakout player.

Overall ranking: No. 90

Positional ranking: No. 20

6’0 [player_tooltip player_id="902045" first="DaJuan" last="McMillan"] | Friendship Tech

McMillan is a solid two way player that can help Friendship Tech do a lot of things on both ends of the floor. Look for him to make a ton of shots this season for Friendship Tech if they are able to step on the court.

Overall ranking: No. 97

Positional ranking: No. 25

6’0 [player_tooltip player_id="902024" first="Saveon" last="Jackson"] | KIPP

I am little surprised that Jackson was this far down on the list but that should not take away from the player he is. Jackson is coming off a strong summer with New World and will be expected to flourish on both ends of the floor at a high level once basketball is able to return to play.

Overall ranking: No. 104

Positional ranking: No. 27

6’2 Miasia Brown | Woodrow Wilson

Brown is a threat to score in a variety of ways and is dangerous once he gets going. Brown is one of the better scorers I have seen in the DC area from the 2021 class.

Overall ranking: No. 106

Positional ranking: No. 29
