[player_tooltip player_id="938857" first="Daylon" last="Andrews"] Putnam City West

Andrews had one of the best games all weekend and one of the more impressive games of the season so far. He simply couldn’t miss. In the championship game of the Putnam City Invitational he brought Putnam City West back from what seemed like an insurmountable lead. Andrews hit tough three after tough three down the stretch as he led his team all the way back. Even though they came up just short in overtime, Andrews couldn’t be stopped and was on an absolute tear from three point range.

Mario Chavez Northwest Classen

Chavez is a lefty and can fill it up. He has a smooth shot and gets his release off quick. Chavez plays super hard and is a huge part of his team’s rebounding too. He does plenty of things well, but his shooting stood out to me this weekend at the Putnam City Invitational. He rarely missed from deep, especially from the corner. NWC has good guards that get to the paint and kick it out, and Chaves was there to hit the shot.

[player_tooltip player_id="745387" first="Cooper" last="Gudell"] Crossings Christian

Gudell has been scoring the ball at a high clip all season long, but he had his best shooting outing of the season against Crooked Oak. Gudell sunk eight three pointers and attempted 11, finishing the game shooting 73% from deep. He’s a tall, lengthy guard that has range from 5+ feet behind the line. Gudell has a quick release and can get his shot off over anyone. He’s a huge piece to Crossings Christian and has been on a tear recently.

[player_tooltip player_id="745382" first="Joell" last="Wilson"] Edmond North

Wilson is an all around scorer. He finished last nights championship game with 28 points and was virtually unguardable. Wilson made big shots and proved how good of a three point shooter he really is. He hit shots from deep all over the arc, anywhere that he was open it went in. Wilson didn’t miss many threes off the catch, but he’s also impressive off the dribble creating his own shot. It was a big weekend for Wilson and the Huskies.

Tye Lair Coweta

This is a name that some people haven’t heard before, but one that needs to be recognized. Lair should become a bigger name in Oklahoma after his production this season. This week alone, Lair nailed 21 three pointers. He had 7 threes in two different games. Lair had a 34 point performance where he went 5/6 from deep followed up by a 25 point performance that included 7/8 from three point range. Lair has strung together some really nice games and is proving that he is one of the best shooters in Oklahoma.

Nate Beitel Regent Prep

Beitel is a player that has been gaining respect this whole season with his scoring ability. He has scored 83 points combined in only the last four games. He has a high release that’s tough to block and his size allows him to shoot over people. He demonstrated this week that he can score off the catch or create his own shot. He used the step back off of ball screens multiple times and defenses had no answer. Beitel is a pure shooter.

Te Holiman McAlester

Holiman is the best scorer in the state, and he has a case for the best shooter in the state too. The degree of difficulty is sky high for most of his shots, as defenses are keyed in on him every game. Holiman will shoot the ball from anywhere when he crosses half court, giving him unlimited range. He has had two 48 point outings this season and is a near lock for 5+ threes a night. Holiman can shoot at all levels, but he is one of the best in the state at creating shots for himself. He really is one of the best shooters we’ve seen. Enjoy watching Holiman at the high school level while you can because this kid is special and will be playing high level college basketball soon.
