Bryce’s Tuesday Favorites: 1/5/2021

<p><strong>AJ Reed</strong> | 2021 Union G <em>(pictured above)</em></p> <p>Reed was great scoring the basketball Tuesday in numerous ways, each one setting him up for his next.</p> <p>He knocked down pull-up jumpers from the mid-range and even flung a wild runner from long two-point range while taking contact to get an and-one call, allowing him to later utilize a right-footed jab to loosen his defender before knocking down a triple.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1015853" first="Kyler" last="Mann"]</strong> | 2021 Owasso F</p> <p>Mann led all scorers with a 20-point double-double, and kept the Rams in the game.</p> <p>He was great rebounding-and-returning the ball, though a few of his points also came during fast-breaks.</p> <p>Speaking of his defense, he was in the middle of a few steals, blocks and pass deflections as his presence was more valuable even than his stat-line in the interior. Additionally, the senior forward passed the ball well out of the post or from post-to-post.</p> <p><strong>Cody Nagy</strong> | 2021 Union G</p> <p>Nagy showed off his talents for Union while scoring double-digits offensively.</p> <p>He was impressive hitting shots out of the dribble, drawing contact, and playing conservatively for the Redskins.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p> <p><strong>Ja’Monn Sanders</strong> | 2021 Union PF</p> <p>Sanders lit a fire under Union’s defense while making a significant contribution offensively.</p> <p>He locked-in to play solid, adherent defense against forwards in the paint considerably taller than he, and he never lost energy doing so, which surely generated energy for his teammates.</p> <p>Offensively, he hit shots exceptionally well against contact in the paint and ground out a solid scoring night.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1015833" first="Jediah" last="Jones"]</strong> | 2021 Union G</p> <p>Jones did a little bit of everything for Union, and one thing I really love is his energy.</p> <p>He made plays for teammates, scored for himself and locked-in defensively to adhere to Owasso’s scoring talent. He also was readily available to step up and deflect passes, set screens and more as he displayed some of the best awareness on the court.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1068563" first="Trent" last="Pierce"]</strong> | 2023 Union F</p> <p>Pierce is likely to become one of the best recruits in the state.</p> <p>The 6-foot-7-inch wing scorer had a great night offensively, taking the ball to the rim, hitting mid-range shots, knocking down threes from the corner and showing off his diverse attack to keep the Rams on their heels.</p> <p>Defensively, he was just as much of a nightmare, recording five blocks and denying opposing scorers all night.</p>
