As we are hopeful for an AIA season to start now in mid-January, we look at some of the top players in every conference.

We move over to the top SG’s in 5A.

Here are some of the top ones that will impact their teams:

[player_tooltip player_id="703810" first="Bailon" last="Black"] (Ironwood) (Pictured)

-One of the top players in the AIA can play on or off the ball. He has deep college shooting range and makes pinpoint passes with his left hand like a PG. I could of easily put him in the PG group too. He will be in every publications POY conversation.

[player_tooltip player_id="809673" first="Max" last="Majerle"] (Arcadia)

-A super athletic guard plays way above the rim on the break. The lefty is a good shooter from the 3pt line and he can get to the cup. He is terrific in the open court and plays the passing lanes well. Another POY candidate for the Titans.

[player_tooltip player_id="703835" first="JJ" last="White"] (Ironwood)

-One of the toughest guards in the conference forms arguably the top duo with [player_tooltip player_id="703810" first="Bailon" last="Black"]. He is a knockdown shooter from deep and he is tough on the ball. He recently de-committed from Univ of Mary and will be a hot commodity for schools looking for that 3 and D type.

[player_tooltip player_id="809715" first="Kieran" last="Carr"] (Arcadia)

-A top-notch shooter with an ultra quick trigger. He will take a lot of pressure off of Majerle and Shaw allowing them space. He is a sneaky good passer and has good length to defend.

[player_tooltip player_id="809732" first="Carson" last="Biggs"] (Desert Mountain)

-A sharp shooter who should have a big year. He was good last year but should be asked to shoot even more. Him, [player_tooltip player_id="827044" first="Easton" last="Reagan"] and [player_tooltip player_id="809730" first="Tony" last="Elliott Jr"] form one of the more underrated AIA back courts in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id="827044" first="Easton" last="Reagan"] (Desert Mountain)

-A breakout candidate had a great off season. He proved he is one of the better shooters and natural scorers in the junior class. He hit big shot after big shot all summer long. He is a good passer and comes with a huge IQ. He is best suited at the 2 but with their lack of size he will play the 4 some and can slide over to the 1 as well, showing his versatility.

[player_tooltip player_id="827033" first="Nikko" last="Pentelute"] (Gilbert)

-A skilled guard is tough as they come. He has good length and uses his strength to get downhill but he has turned around his shooting exponentially. His pull-up from mid is money and he can hit the 3.

[player_tooltip player_id="827009" first="Trenten" last="Lavender"] (Centennial)

-The son of a coach is a very smart player and he should be back 100% healthy this year. He missed most of last year and if one player was helped by the later start, it was Lavender. He can shoot it from deep, pull-up plus make plays.

[player_tooltip player_id="996161" first="Lashy" last="Perez"] (Apollo)

-One of the top sophs in 5A plus the #1 rated CG in the class should have a breakout season for the Hawks. He is tough and fearless. He takes it to the cup with his tight handle and can score it from the perimeter with range. He will form a tough back court with [player_tooltip player_id="701265" first="Ahamed" last="Mohamed"].
