Week 3 is underway and we have got a big slate of high school hoops going on this week in Indiana. Let us dive on in and take a look at some highlights of Tuesday’s night of hoops.

Barr-Reeve beats Bloomington South

Last night saw a highly anticipated battle between 1A Barr-Reeve and 4A Bloomington South. Thanks to a couple of good performances from Barr-Reeve’s [player_tooltip player_id="783158" first="Curt" last="Hopf"] (16 pts) and [player_tooltip player_id="958397" first="Hagen" last="Knepp"] (12 pts), the Vikings were able to defeat the Panthers, 41-36. South’s stud forward [player_tooltip player_id="783201" first="Joseph" last="Bomba"] led his team with 27 points and played very well as normal. This was a big win for Barr-Reeve as they have had some delay with getting their season started. On the other end, though this may be a tough loss for South, they do have a chance to bounce back this Friday against Southport.

Leo beats Bishop Luers

In a pretty good game, Leo was able to beat Bishop Luers, 57-51. This was Luers first game of the season and though they fought hard and had a great performance from [player_tooltip player_id="647205" first="Naylon" last="Thompson"] (17 pts, 8 rbs), they just did not have enough fire power to snag the road win against the undefeated Leo squad. Leo was led in scoring by [player_tooltip player_id="874150" first="Blake" last="Davison"] (15 pts) and [player_tooltip player_id="870252" first="Ayden" last="Ruble"] (11 pts). Leo has been on an absolute roll to start the season and have played some really good basketball. Luers put up a big fight but will have to have a short memory of this game as they will travel to Fort Wayne Canterbury this Saturday for their second game of the season.

Woodlan survives Angola

In a very close, back-and-forth battle, Woodlan was able to survive Angola, 54-53. [player_tooltip player_id="870234" first="Joe" last="Reidy"] was the star of the game for Woodlan here as he dropped an impressive 32 points and scored the last few buckets for Woodlan down the stretch. Angola’s Brian Parrish had himself a huge performance dropping 20 points with 18 of those coming from 6 triples.
