Washtenaw County has some very impressive basketball talent. Let’s take a look at the top 25 players in the county. We will start 13-25. Prep schools were not included in this list, as we stuck to MHSAA schools.

NUMBER 25

[player_tooltip player_id="814643" first="Jack" last="Den Houter"] (2021, PF, Ann Arbor Huron)

Den Houter, in my opinion, has a huge upside. When at his best, he can play with most bigs in the state.

NUMBER 24

Sergio Bennett (2021, PG, Ann Arbor Huron)

Bennett would be a starting guard on at least 90% of the teams in the state. He’s a quick and efficient lead guard with solid handles.

NUMBER 23

[player_tooltip player_id="986256" first="Carter" last="Alexander"] (2023, PG, Chelsea)

Alexander is a name to get used to. He’ll be giving opposing coaches fits for years to come.

NUMBER 22

Nathan Holmberg (2021,SF, Saline)

Holmberg won’t dazzle you by jumping through the roof or scoring 20 a game. But he will, in Coach Fosdick fashion, out tough and out muscle a lot of the competition.

NUMBER 21

[player_tooltip player_id="814623" first="Aiden" last="Lee"] (2021, SG, Ann Arbor Pioneer)

Lee will be a big piece of the puzzle for Pioneer. He can shoot with 3 point range and can handle the ball when needed.

NUMBER 20

[player_tooltip player_id="986257" first="Matt" last="Blanton"] (2023, SG, Chelsea)

Blanton is another piece of a talented young Chelsea backcourt. Blanton and Alexander seem to fit together like hand and glove.

NUMBER 19

[player_tooltip player_id="1051079" first="Jalen" last="Broyles"] (2021, SF, Ypsilanti Lincoln)

Broyles is a name you might need to get used to. He’s an athletic wing that can make plays. Broyles can play at a fast pace.

NUMBER 18

[player_tooltip player_id="983531" first="Lucas" last="Hanifan"] (2022,SG, Chelsea)

Hanifan will be relied on a lot by the Chelsea squad. His shooting will stretch the D and he will be a relied upon scorer.

NUMBER 17

[player_tooltip player_id="1068150" first="Omari" last="Byrd"] (2022, C, Arbor Prep)

Byrd is an underrated post prospect. He plays bigger than his 6-5 height and can battle taller post players. Byrd will more than hold his own in the paint.

NUMBER 16

[player_tooltip player_id="983520" first="Cal" last="Bavineau"] (2022, PG, Dexter)

Bavineau is a smooth point guard that plays with poise and control. He could definitely have an argument to move up this list.

NUMBER 15

[player_tooltip player_id="814671" first="Malcome" last="Clements"] (2021, CG, Arbor Prep)

Don’t forget about Clements at Arbor Prep! This young man is an experienced athlete that has played some big time games against tough competition in the grassroots circuit. He’s a real deal player.

NUMBER 14

[player_tooltip player_id="980067" first="Jack" last="Williams"] (2021, SG, Ann Arbor Skyline)

Williams can stalk the perimeter and make a defense pay if they forget about him or step off him. He has excellent shot selection.

NUMBER 13

[player_tooltip player_id="980055" first="Colin" last="Parachek"] (2021, SG, Dexter)

Parachek is one of the best all around athletes in the county. He has good vertical speed and can change direction at the drop of a dime.
