Let's recap some of the action from Saturday's schedule.

Dunkerton vs. Janesville

Both teams entered the matchup unbeaten, but the Raiders outlasted the Wildcats, and now Dunkerton stands alone atop the division standings. Janesville had a frantic fourth-quarter effort that almost was enough to complete the comeback, but the hole was too large to dig themselves out of. Earlier in the week, Casey Gardner set a Dunkerton school record for assists in a game (15) after tying it the previous game. His playmaking was strong in Saturday’s game, too. [player_tooltip player_id="964948" first="Jake" last="Kennedy"] continued his hot shooting, and it was all enough to move past Janesville 56–52.

Offensive explosion for the Warriors

Alta-Aurelia had one of the best offensive performances you’ll see from a team this year. They defeated Woodbury Central 83-50 on Saturday night with a 72%(!) effective field goal percentage. Every Warrior with multiple shot attempts on the night shot 50% from the field or above. Cade Rohwer (24 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals) and Trey Engelmann (19 points, 7 assists) were the best players on the court, but it was balanced scoring from the rest of the team that made this one so lopsided. The Warriors improve to 4–1.

Spirit Lake Central Lyon

Last Tuesday, Spirit Lake hit a shot at the buzzer to beat Spencer. They mustered up that same magic on Saturday when they squared off against Central Lyon. Similar situation, same result, and the same player knocking down the big shot. Tyler Kriener hit two game-winning shots at the buzzer in week two to help move his team to 4-0. The Indians are filled with smart, sharp-passing players, which produces great looks for all five positions. [player_tooltip player_id="962615" first="Vance" last="Katzfey"] is the primary scoring option on the team, but he also moves the ball well. [player_tooltip player_id="964936" first="Brent" last="Scott"] is a willing and able passer at the forward position. Tyler Kriener also flashes some great passing vision. They play unselfishly and connected on both offense and defense, which has propelled them to an undefeated record so far.
