Film Review: Volume 3

This is the third part of a film review series that aims to help local players gain exposure.</p> <p><strong>VeJon Ashley | 6’3 F | Cambridge South-Dorchester ‘21</strong></p> <p>A long-limbed, broad-shouldered lefty wing with a quick first step. Adept paint-getter who finishes above the rim in traffic. Utilizes floaters well. Plays with a high motor. Relentless offensive rebounder. A crafty finisher in the paint. A terrific playmaker who displays impressive court vision. Active and alert help defender. Takes charges.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1049867" first="Anthony" last="Davenport"] | 6’8 F | St. John’s ‘23</strong></p> <p>Tall forward who is efficient around the basket. Good offensive rebounder with great hands. Available for dump-offs. Has a nice arsenal of post moves including a jump hook and a baseline fadeaway jump-shot. Disruptive defensively around the rim. Good standstill shooter who can pick and pop.</p> <p><strong>Noah Elias | 6’5 F | Sherwood ‘21</strong></p> <p>Shifty wing who enjoys getting downhill. Crafty finisher around the basket. Grab and go threat. Aggressive in transition. Creative shot maker.</p> <p><strong>DeTerris Hamilton | 6’0 G  | Chapelgate Christian ‘21</strong></p> <p>A reliable playmaker who excels in transition. Can make shots off the bounce. Changes direction on a dime and knows how to finish in the paint. Sprinkles in floaters nicely. Scores from a variety of angles.<strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>Mike Henderson | 5’8 G | St. Maria Goretti ‘22</strong></p> <p>A lightning-quick point guard who keeps the ball on a string. Works well out of ball screen actions as a scorer and facilitator. Has a dependable go-to floater in the lane. Pesky defender on and off the ball</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="902098" first="Greg" last="Jones"] | 6’5 W | Hayfield ‘23</strong></p> <p>Athletic wing who plays with a high motor. An agile defender who picks pockets in the backcourt but is also disruptive in the paint. Grab and go threat who is dangerous in transition. Plays above the rim on both ends. Confident perimeter shooter from the catch. Displays good touch around the basket with either hand. Crashes the offensive glass with purpose. Embraces contact when finishing around the basket. Can be used as a roll man. Has great hands.<strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1049817" first="Shaq" last="Samuels"] | 6’5 F | Avalon ‘22</strong></p> <p>Robustly built wing who is a one-man fast break. Has the eye for a good pass. Moves bodies in the paint. Active on the offensive glass. A slasher who can finish with either hand in the lane. Capable catch and shoot threat from the perimeter. Uses jabs effectively to create space.</p> <p><strong>Jayden Socka | 6’8 C | Springbrook ‘21</strong></p> <p>Tall post prospect who is a confident scorer with his back to the basket when shooting over his left shoulder. Available for dump-offs. Smart offensive rebounder. Putback specialist. Competes defensively.</p>
