CTC Classic

12 teams from across Georgia met at Cass High School for the Create The Culture Classic. Nine of the 12 teams were ranked in the Top 10. Here’s who stood out from the star-studded event.

Top Guards

2021 6-0 PG Jaquez Holt – Spencer

Hailing from Columbus, Jaquez Holt turned heads with his savvy play from the point guard position. Holt used a mature game to pepper the defense. In an era where some may say the mid-range shot is dead, Holt brought it back to life with five pull-ups in his 23-point performance. Holt blends quickness, skill and toughness. Jaquez can play at multiple speeds. He’s a highly underrated guard that should be on college radars.

2022 6-4 SG [player_tooltip player_id="598780" first="Chance" last="Thacker"] – Providence Christian

A game-high 22 points netted [player_tooltip player_id="598780" first="Chance" last="Thacker"] MVP honors in a 52-40 win over St. Anne-Pacelli. Thacker scored the ball at all three levels. He nailed three threes, hit tough mid-range jumpers and finished in traffic. He has great strength and balance when attacking the rim, able to draw fouls. Thacker is a high IQ player that High Academic programs will want to reach out to.

2021 6-5 SG [player_tooltip player_id="934248" first="James" last="White"] – Heritage-Conyers

Pencil in 20 points per game every time [player_tooltip player_id="934248" first="James" last="White"] steps on the floor – actually make it a sharpie. White gets his points no matter what. He scored a cool 24 in a heartbreaking loss to Cherokee while dealing with one of the best athletes and top perimeter defenders in the state in [player_tooltip player_id="1036811" first="Ethan" last="Pickett"]. The Ole Miss-signee collected 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals as well, continuing his development as an all-around player.

2021 6-4 G [player_tooltip player_id="1011329" first="Jaeden" last="Marshall"] – Richmond Hill

[player_tooltip player_id="1011329" first="Jaeden" last="Marshall"] took full advantage of the CTC Classic stage, bulldozing Upson-Lee in a 74-39 rout. Marshall was a handful when he decided to get downhill. He overpowers guards with his 205-pound frame and can absorb contact when getting to the hoop. Marshall holds great value with his versatility. He can rebound at a high rate and has gotten better at facilitating. He posted 17 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. D-II coaches need to be lined up out the door to grab the man-child guard.

2021 6-0 PG [player_tooltip player_id="869652" first="Isaiah" last="Logan"] – Allatoona

Entering the event with a 1-3 record and staring down the barrel of 1-4 vs. Class A-Private No. 3 Mt. Pisgah, the Buccaneers needed a win in the worst way. Those early season wars with Centennial, Kell and Wheeler paid off as Allatoona dug deep to push past the Patriots 59-55. [player_tooltip player_id="869652" first="Isaiah" last="Logan"] was the catalyst, finishing with 24 points and 6 rebounds. The speedy playmaker converted tough layups in traffic and knocked down three three-pointers. Logan has game-breaker ability when he’s zoned in and he shined as the best guard on the floor on Saturday.
