“Braeden is a long athletic lead guard,” Pirates Coach James Ware explained. “He has really improved from a catch and shoot guy to a player that can take make tough shots off the dribble as well as attack the basket.
“(Braeden’s) confidence playing against elite level guys at Park Center and then all summer with Grassroots Sizzle has him participated in the jump he has made in his all around floor game. His leadership in taking responsibility for not only himself but others makes him unique.”
Carrington was offered by Florida before his sophomore season and by Missouri during his sophomore season. Minnesota’s scholarship offer extension yesterday gives him a third high major offer.
“It’s a home offer, (I’ve) been waiting for this one, I’m very happy for sure,” Carrington said. “I was talking very heavily with (Minnesota assistant) Jeff Mailhot for a couple of days and then to Coach Pitino who called. We just talked about my game and how they want me on campus as soon as possible.”
In addition to Minnesota, who else is showing Carrington a large amount of interest?
“Right now, Baylor, Iowa, St. Thomas, Western Kentucky, Santa Clara, and that’s just a few of them.”

Carrington is Park Center’s top returning scorer and player coming off a 6.5 point per game season. Braeden moves from the 6th man role to the leading role for the Pirates with all that’s going on things have been tough, but Carrington has really taken steps forward.
“After losing all of our seniors I knew I was gonna have to step up and be a leader.” Carrington said. “It’s been tough because of Covid but I’ve been in the weight room with the team and in the gym getting shots working out with Adam Kado, working on my craft to become a better point guard.”
