[player_tooltip player_id="796107" first="Reid" last="Grant"] - Johnston

No player improved their stock this summer more than [player_tooltip player_id="796107" first="Reid" last="Grant"]. One might skip over his row when glancing at the 2019-2020 Johnston Basketball stat sheet, but absolute nobody could glance over his play since then. With excellent ball-handling and complete control of his pace, he will be a low-turnover, shot-creator for every minute he is on the court. Throughout the entirety of his drives, spins, or cuts he is scanning the floor, searching out opportunities to exploit.

[player_tooltip player_id="796110" first="Malik" last="Allen"] - Waukee

Malik led Des Moines North in points, rebounds, and assists a year ago, and now he joins a loaded Waukee group. He was a high volume shooter last season, all the while maintaining his efficiency. He is a variable 3-point shooter off the dribble, and when defenses play the shot aggressively, he will counter with strong drives.

[player_tooltip player_id="796108" first="Trey" last="Shearer"] - Montezuma

Trey would fit in any offensive system you could come up with. He is very comfortable shooting off the catch, and began to open up his shooting off the dribble this summer. Recently, he has gotten into the lane to make plays with more regularity. He is comfortable with the ball in his hands, but makes impact even without it.

[player_tooltip player_id="796124" first="Jeron" last="Crews"] - Ankeny Centennial

The senior for the Jaguars has great shooting range, which forces defenses to play further away from the basket. He shot the three-pointer at a 34 percent clip on nearly 6 attempts each game, so his defender has to go over screens and play above the line. Jaron can then turn it downhill and make the reads at this second level.

[player_tooltip player_id="727901" first="Diondre" last="Taylor"] - Des Moines North

There might not be a shiftier point guard in this class than [player_tooltip player_id="727901" first="Diondre" last="Taylor"]. He can accelerate so quickly, making his hesitations and dribble moves that much tougher to defend. Once in the lane he has a spin-move, a step-back jumper, but usually can score just fine with a blow-by. As a senior, there will be more playmaking opportunities to fill in for Des Moines North, and he will surely carry a bigger load.

[player_tooltip player_id="796144" first="Luke" last="Rankin"] - Dallas Center-Grimes

Luke is one of the better pure-passers you’ll see on the hardwood this year. He is left-hand dominant but can fire on-target dimes with either hand. His flashiest assists usually come off the live-dribble or in transition. When he handles the ball in the pick and roll he is most dangerous. He uses screens to peel his defender off him, and once he turns that corner, he can read and react at a high level.
