Let’s dive into a group of the best prospects in the 2021 class that as of now do not have a D1 offer in hand. We break down the games of these players who should be under D1 consideration heading into the early signing period.

[player_tooltip player_id="920943" first="James" last="Dent"] (Springfield Southeast)

Dent is a slender built two guard that can flat out fill it up from the perimeter. One of the better pure shot makers in the class. Best off the catch, but improved his overall feel during the summer.

[player_tooltip player_id="920945" first="Jaehshon" last="Thomas"] (Whitney Young)

Thomas has significantly elevated his stock with a strong showing at multiple events during the summer and fall. The tough minded point guard has elevated his game with how well he is shooting it from the perimeter. Solid decision maker and is a physical player on both ends.

[player_tooltip player_id="821734" first="Jaiden" last="Lee"] (Joliet West)

Lee is a rangy two guard that brings athleticism and plus shooting from deep. Going to be the focus of a loaded Joliet West team this season. Length plays well on the defensive end. Potential JUCO candidate.

[player_tooltip player_id="920947" first="Kimahri" last="Wilson"] (Carmel)

Wilson is a quick and shifty lead guard that is lightning quick with the ball in his hands. He wins off the bounce and lives in the lane for acrobatic finishes at the cup. His runner game is another strength. Speed in the open floor. Needs to improve as a shooter.

[player_tooltip player_id="995969" first="Bennie" last="Slater"] (Springfield)

Slater is a point forward from central Illinois have has flown under the radar, but when you look at his junior film he definitely has traits that could help at the low-major level. Skilled prospect with size and versatility.

[player_tooltip player_id="652762" first="Darrion" last="Jones"] (Bogan)

Jones is your classic Bogan guard with his big frame and toughness getting to the rim. Primed for a big season with the Bengals. High level competitor!

[player_tooltip player_id="765192" first="Jake" last="Wolf"] (Lake Forest Academy)

Wolf is a skilled post with quality size and touch in the paint. Makes good decisions of when to score and dish. Has some potential as a rim protector as well.

[player_tooltip player_id="995970" first="Jack" last="Mielke"] (Downers Grove North)

Mielke might be the most coveted D2 prospect in the state and this point, but does not yet have D1 offer. Face up four with an excellent three point shooter spotting up and drilling them over and over again.

[player_tooltip player_id="920969" first="Kevin" last="Bozeman"] (Downers Grove North)

Bozeman is a long and lanky four that can stretch the floor with his shooting while also using his quickness on the interior to finish above the rim. Bouncy forward has upside!

[player_tooltip player_id="921019" first="Damarcies" last="Moore"] (Longwood)

Moore is a long and rangy combo forward. I was very impressed with the way he shot it from deep for Team MORE. Smooth looking shot that came off his hands easy. Long and athletic frame. Quick bounce off the floor getting to the glass. Should bring some versatility on the defensive end as well.
