The Suburban East Preview

<p>Another consistently tough league in Minnesota?  The Suburban East, also known as the SEC.  Today’s featured league. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Conference Commentary</strong></p> <p><strong>Top Ten in State</strong> – East Ridge</p> <p>The SEC has four of the top 15 teams in the state but the one team that I really feel confident in when it comes to talent, depth, size, and experience, is East Ridge.  With three starters back, a young star in the making in the sophomore class, and some college prospect senior bigs coming up from the JV, East Ridge is the favorite. </p> <p><strong>Potential Top Ten in State</strong> – Cretin-Derham Hall, Woodbury, Mounds View</p> <p>There are very few players that I would trust to take a team that’s almost entirely inexperienced, and keep them at or near the top of the hill in a tough league, but [player_tooltip player_id="850701" first="Tre" last="Holloman"] is one of those guys.  Tre is that good as a leader and a competitor so I fully expect CDH to be pretty good.  Woodbury and Mounds View will be right on the heels of the Raptors and Raiders though.  What Woodbury and Mounds View have back is enough to make an SEC title run.  Both are experienced after a 20-win level previous year and both will be that caliber of team again this season. </p> <p><strong>Compete with Most –</strong> Park of Cottage Grove, White Bear Lake, Stillwater, Forest Lake</p> <p>Forest Lake and Stillwater are teams I think will take the step from winning about a third of their games to winning at least half of their games.  Stillwater had six of their top guys back while Forest Lake has two excellent returning talents leading the way in Boysen and Bartlett.  White Bear Lake has a young star (Janicki) and a senior (Raheem) that is a true under the radar talent.  Park of Cottage Grove won four games last year so how is that not rebuilding?  It may still be but the Lane &amp;
