With [player_tooltip player_id="931188" first="Nate" last="Goodlow"] off to college, the Del City Eagles will look to maintain their greatness this season after a 24-1 record last year, led by their star senior [player_tooltip player_id="745370" first="Keyondre" last="Young"], who is currently ranked fourth in the class of 2021.

However, Del City and coach Lenny Hatchett face a new obstacle in 2021: bumping-up to class 6A. Hatchett has a track record of success from Mount Saint Mary’s to Edmond Santa Fe, where he obtained experience coaching at the 6A level.

This season coach Hatchet will have a plethora of talent and leadership to lead Del City to another state tournament birth.

In addition to Young, Del City will feature two other talented seniors: [player_tooltip player_id="938846" first="Javeon" last="McCalister"], who is a playmaker and defensive aficionado, and [player_tooltip player_id="938853" first="Sherrod" last="Davis"], who uses his size and strength to have his way against the majority of his competition.

[player_tooltip player_id="1068562" first="Brandon" last="Garrison"] may be the most promising prospect of them all. The 6-foot-8-inch forward pieced together an outstanding highlight reel during the summer, and now the sophomore looks to make an immediate impact for the Eagles behind his powerful defensive game and developing offensive arsenal.

Guard Ladarius Crutchfield is also looking to make a greater impact for Del City this season.

Del City was on a roll in 5A the past couple seasons, but it would be a tall order for any team in the state to make the leap from one class to another.
