Senior Sunday: Recruiting Updates

<p>The calendar has turned to November which means we are just a couple weeks away from National Signing Day.  As that day approaches we continue to track the class of 2021 in our <strong>Senior Sunday</strong> series where we catch up with prospects across the state to get the latest on their recruitments!</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="529051" first="Bryce" last="Hopkins"] (Fenwick)</strong></p> <p>The state’s #2 prospect came off the board on Monday to Kentucky.  The former Louisville commit chose the Wildcats over Indiana, Illinois, Providence, and a host of other high-major programs.  Hopkins is a perfect fit for today’s game with his inside/outside versatility.  Physical presence that can take over games.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="830601" first="Tevin" last="Smith"] (Danville</strong>)</p> <p>The explosive small forward tells PHI that he will not be signing during the early live period. He mentioned three schools most involved in his recruitment, “Oregon, Cal State Fullerton, Miami-Ohio.”  We would guess this ulimately comes down to Cal State Fullerton and Miami (OH).</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="920994" first="Jadyn" last="Benson"] (Mt Carmel)</strong></p> <p>Combo guard with athleticism and three level scorinv pop. Benson said the schools most involved right now are, “Central College, Concordia, Beloit,  Culver Stockton more like that.”</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="920964" first="Nathan" last="Hall"] (Collinsville)</strong></p> <p>Hall is a skilled and athletic face up four that stretches the floor with his shooting.  He says on his recruitment, “A lot of interest from schools like University of Mary, Missouri Baptist, and Virginia Military Institute.  Also talking to SIUE a bit.  Looking to take an official visit to Mary sometime soon.”</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="921020" first="Dre’" last="Scott"] (Pinckneyville)</strong></p> <p>Scott is a strong and athletic wing that had a big performance at the Illinois Bears Jamboree last weekend.  On his recruitment he told us, “Idaho has reached out to me.  Rend Lake, Illinois College, Kaskaskia College have all talked and showed interest.  I am hoping to pick up some more!”</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="920978" first="Kyonte" last="Thomas"] (Bolingbrook)</strong></p> <p>Thomas has been one of my favorite small college prospects in this class and on Thursday night he came off the board to Trinity International University.  The Bolingbrook point guard is an elite on ball defender that takes opponents out of their game on that end while also being capable on the offensive side.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="921023" first="Jerry" last="Abushanab"] (Glenbard North)</strong></p> <p>Long and lanky forward with projection and upside.  He told us where his recruitment stands saying, “North Central, Carthage College, Concordia just a few from the list.”  A couple of D1s have reached out with initial interest he said, “Central Michigan, Oral Roberts, Arkansas Pine Bluff, and San Jose State.”</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1049580" first="Aidan" last="Murphy"] (Glenbard West)</strong></p> <p>The skilled forward from Glenbard West announced his commitment on Wednesday to Carnegie Mellon.  Murphy is going to be a big part of Glenbard West’ team this year.</p>
