Week 1 is underway and we have got a big slate of high school hoops going on this week in Indiana. This season is going to be full of uncertainty, but let us dive on in and take a look at some highlights of Saturday’s night of hoops.

Hale Etches Names in History Books

[player_tooltip player_id="783147" first="Lincoln" last="Hale"] of Linton-Stockton etched his name into the history books with points on Saturday night. Hale put up 32 points and 26 points in the Miners’ two wins on the day. His 32 point performances in game one made him the all-time leading scorer at Linton-Stockton with over 1,500 points. The Indiana State commit is set for a big senior season for Linton-Stockton this year as the Miners have high hopes for the season ahead. The defending Sectional champs are 51-6 in the last two seasons and are hoping to avenge the loss in the state finals from two years ago, so if Hale continues to play at this level, that is not out of the question.

Mt. Vernon Holds on in a Shootout

In a game with tons of next-level talent on either side, the offense shined bright. Mt. Vernon held off the Hamilton Heights Huskies 83-78 thanks to big performances by the Jarrard twins.
Lafayette Jeff Puts Up Triple Digits

Lafayette Jeff defeated Indianapolis Metropolitan 105-54 in their season opener thanks to big performances by their stars. [player_tooltip player_id="783143" first="Brooks" last="Barnhizer"] tallied 40 points, 8 rebounds, 8 steals, and 6 assists in a stat-stuffing day for the Northwestern commit. Yes, Jeff was supposed to win this game handily, but with the balanced scoring attack and outstanding performance by Barnhizer, they have shown their potential in a big way.
