Preseason Watchlist: Class B Region 2

<p>Practices officially start today in North Dakota. COVID-19 restrictions have been everchanging this fall. As of today, the first games can be played on December 14th. Region 2 is stacked with skilled players. It will be an interesting season, to say the least. Expect a great year of hoops in Region 2.</p> <p><br /> Alphabetically, here are our players to watch in Region 2:</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="731896" first="Colton" last="Konschak"] (2021) |6-4 G| Hatton/Northwood</strong> – All-around player who gets it done on both ends of the floor. Kolton has long arms that make him a problematic defender. He is one of the top three-point shooters in the Region. He has the range to hit from beyond the college line. Look for him to be one of the best do-it-all players in Region 2.</p> <p><br /> <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="998919" first="Gage" last="Pollestad"] (2021) |6-5 F| Drayton-Valley-Edinburg</strong> – Lengthy player that has a smooth looking jumper. Gage is an opportunistic scorer with good feet. He has the knack for being a great rebounder. Look for him to be one of the best forwards in the Region this year.</p> <p><br /> <strong>Jaden Lee (2021) |6-2 G| North Border</strong> – Versatile player who shows up on offense and defense. A sneaky athlete who causes problems as a defender. He can put the ball in the hole in a variety of ways. Look for him to be an All-Region player this year.</p> <p><br /> <strong>Kelby Azure (2022) |6-4 F| Hatton/Northwood</strong> – Strong and powerful post player. Kelby has the range to step out and hit the occasional triple. He should dominate on the glass this season. Look for him to be one of the top underclassmen in Region 2.</p> <p><br /> <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="998911" first="Ryan" last="Sletten"] (2021) |6-4 F| Larimore</strong> – Great shooting-form and even better footwork. He is very solid fundamentally. Ryan can hit the 3-ball with consistency. He is wiry and creative when finishing around the basket. Look for him to be one of the elite offensive players in Region 2 this season.</p> <p><br /> <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1046338" first="Seth" last="Robinson"] (2021) |6-2 G| Midway-Minto</strong> – Top-end shooter from 3-point land. He shoots with a nice base and has solid form. On defense, he has anticipation skills that lead to steals and buckets on the other end. He is a crafty guard that finishes in a variety of ways in the paint. Look for him to be one of the best guards in Region 2 this season.</p> <p><br /> <strong>Sam Hagen (2021) |6-6 F| Park River/Fordville-Lankin</strong> – Great touch around the basketball and a difficult matchup for most teams. Division 1 football recruit. Sam has great hands and feet. He plays physical and embraces contact. He is a legitimate double-double player every game. Sam can be dominant on the block but can also step out and shoot it. Look for him to be in the running for Region-2 Senior Athlete of the year.</p> <p><br /> <strong>Steven Garza (2021) |6-2 G| Grafton</strong> – Great hops who can slam it 1 or 2 handed. Steven has nice handles with multiple moves to beat the defender. He can score around the rim with both hands. One of the top guards in the Region. He gets to the rim but can also knock down shots from the perimeter. Look for him to be in the running for Region-2 Senior Athlete of the year.</p>
