In preparation for the anticipated season, we’ve been releasing comprehensive preview content covering the area in and around DMV. One of the things we like to do each year is to try and predict who will make the All-Met First Team. Here is a breakdown of all 10 candidates.

[player_tooltip player_id="777061" first="Favour" last="Aire"]

Aire had a coming-out party to remember last season. McNamara’s man in the middle will be a daunting foe for opponents who challenge him in the paint.

[player_tooltip player_id="777064" first="Darren" last="Buchanan Jr."]

Wilson’s do-it-all forward has enjoyed a brilliant start to his high school career and is steadily improving. Being named an All-Met First Teamer seems like a natural progression.

[player_tooltip player_id="562690" first="Ryan" last="Cornish"]

Sidwell could be a sneaky good team this year, and Cornish will be one of the reasons for that. He has been and will continue to be a difference-maker on both ends.

[player_tooltip player_id="902004" first="Jordan" last="Hawkins"]

Hawkins improved drastically from his sophomore to junior year. Expectations will be high but given his relentless work ethic that should be no problem.

[player_tooltip player_id="697101" first="Darius" last="Johnson"]

Johnson is one of the most explosive two-way guards the DMV has seen in a while. Let’s enjoy watching him while he’s still here.

[player_tooltip player_id="543841" first="Trevor" last="Keels"]

Keels has evolved into a fantastic all-around player. His experience level and resume made him one of the first names that came to mind when thinking of this list.

[player_tooltip player_id="798711" first="Chris" last="Kuzemka"]

With [player_tooltip player_id="798687" first="Avery" last="Ford"] taking home first-team honors for Centreville last season, it’s would be a great story if Kuzemka could make it two in two years for the Wildcats. He certainly has a good chance.

[player_tooltip player_id="712742" first="Bez" last="Mbeng"]

Mbeng has been Good Counsel’s talisman for four years now. He’s invaluable to his team and for that, he was an easy choice here.

[player_tooltip player_id="531233" first="Jakai" last="Robinson"]

Productivity has become synonymous with Robinson. He's a blue-collar guy who has earned the right to make the first team as a senior.

[player_tooltip player_id="712751" first="Abdou" last="Samb"]

Samb has been a tremendous high school player at Douglass. It's also refreshing to think that his best playing days are still in front of him.
