Continue ReadingEntering the 2022 rankings are some small forwards who haven’t yet made big names for themselves on the high school level. But they really showed off this summer and should be ready to make some waves this winter.
Here are the five small forwards who cracked the Kansas 2022 Player Rankings:
23 Jack Ratigan Jack Ratigan 6'5" | SF Blue Valley West | 2022 State KS , Blue Valley West:
Ratigan showed what he can do this summer for Team KC. He is a versatile 6-foot-5 athlete who can run and jump. He has a nice perimeter game and can get his shot off with his height and long arms. He also works in the lane well, knowing how to post up and how to slice through the lane to catch and score. He is a solid ball handler and is dangerous from end to end.
28 Jayson Luse Jayson Luse 6'4" | SF Olathe West | 2022 State KS , Olathe West (pictured):
Luse is a seriously springy athlete who can do explosive things all over the court. He’s got a dangerous eye from beyond the arc. He can outrun a defense and finish at the rim. He can split a defense on the drive from the perimeter. He can handle the ball and pull up on the run to trigger his jumper from anywhere.
38 Adrian Dimond Adrian Dimond 6'7" | SF Mill Valley | 2022 State KS , Mill Valley:
One of the most impressive athletes at the summer events. Dimond is 6-foot-7 and a smooth, strong and agile package. He can run the floor and jump well. Dimond loves to pass, and is always trying to involve his teammates. He has the size to really be a mismatch in the post.
85 Brady Klotz Brady Klotz 6'4" | SF Royal Valley | 2022 State KS , Royal Valley:
Klotz earned honorable mention 3A last year. He gained a lot of respect for doing a lot of little things for the loaded Royal Valley club. He averaged 10.6 points and 7.2 boards. He has the physique and toughness to really be a load in the post, and is really good in the lane. He catches and pops an effective jumper and also has a solid shot from beyond the arc. But the best thing about Klotz is his willingness to do the dirty work, which make him the perfect fit at Royal Valley.
89 Emmitt Jueneman Emmitt Jueneman 6'1" | SF Hanover | 2022 State KS , Hanover:
Though just 6-foot-1, Jueneman is an explosive athlete who can rebound and trigger the break, shoot from distance, and fill the lane. At the offensive end, he is a slasher with the ball and effective catch and shoot guy cutting through the lane. He is strong and can jump. And probably his best trait is his ability to get down and guard a variety of opponents.
