It was week three at Details Training this past Saturday and Sunday. Great evaluation seeing these college prospects go against each other in a competitive setting. Here is our recap with Details Training: Week 3 Standouts!

[player_tooltip player_id="921000" first="Evan" last="Ambrose"] (Stevenson – 2021)

Ambrose is one of the most under recruited small college prospects in the state. The smaller point guard was fantastic during this week’s session. His passing was on point dishing off dimes left and right in both half court and transition. Plays with a ton of flair. Shifty ball handler that can get in the paint and finish with runners and scoop shots. Capable shooter that is adept as a hitting pull ups.

[player_tooltip player_id="920987" first="Jared" last="Pearson"] (Maine West – 2021)

Pearson is a well-built combo guard that has a knack for putting it in the hoop. Takes it strong to the cup where he scored in transition and showed some acrobatic finishes. Tough kid that makes gritty straight line takes. Sound shooter that is a quality sniper when left open.

[player_tooltip player_id="920947" first="Kimahri" last="Wilson"] (Carmel – 2021)

Wilson is among the best unsigned prospects remaining on the board in the state of Illinois. The Carmel point guard is a quick and shifty senior that is dynamic winning off the bounce weaving in between defenders for buckets at the hoop. Crafty finisher with good footwork in the paint. Usually struggles as a shooter, but in the one game we saw he knocked down a pair of them. Speed in the open floor is impressive and he showed flashes as a passer.

[player_tooltip player_id="999562" first="Bryce" last="Moore"] (Carmel – 2022)

Moore is an athletic combo guard that on the second day of games came out scorching from beyond the arc. Can handle in the open floor pushing coast to coast. Good perimeter defender that contests shots.

[player_tooltip player_id="995971" first="Ethan" last="Roberts"] (Hersey – 2021)

Roberts continues to boost his stock with strong showings this fall at Details Training. High level shot maker with plus size on the perimeter. Feathery perimeter shot especially off the catch. More than just a shooter though. Strong ball handler can put it on the deck for scores including a sweet euro step. Also was effective as a passer in the drive/kick. Emerged as a legit D2 guy that could be considered by low-majors as well.

Zach Bailey (Hampshire – 2021)

Bailey is a slender built two guard with a nice looking baseline jump shot. Also was active with his length on the defensive end.

Andrew Wagner (Hersey – 2021)

Wagner is a tough guard that is a crisp jump shooter on the perimeter. Even when he misses he flies in to get his own board. Can put it on the deck and overall brings toughness to the position.

[player_tooltip player_id="821736" first="Blake" last="Peters"] (Evanston – 2021)

The Princeton commit is an impact Ivy League talent. His overall game has improved considerably. Known as an elite shooter and he still is, but in the film we watched it was his passing that stood out the most. The two guard is only 6’1” so being able to play on the ball brings much value to his game. Excellent decision maker in the half court and pick/roll. Hits his shooters in the pocket. Athleticism continues to evolve as well which is often seen in the open floor.

Garrett Burdin (Rochelle – 2021)

Burdin was one of the breakout players last week. He continued his strong play draining an array of triples especially as a spot up guy. Mixed in a couple drives and a sweet dish in the pick/roll. Should be a coveted small college shooter.

Logan Talmage (Evanston – 2021)

Evanston could be the team to beat in Illinois if we have a season. This senior big man teaming up with their D1 transfer Ajiboye would give them the inside presence they have been missing. Talmage is a mobile four that works great in the pick/roll. He finished over and over in those situations. Efficient post scorer that likes to use a spin move on the block. Runs the floor hard.

Jalen Axibal (Loyola – 2021)

Left handed combo guard brings athleticism to the table in the backcourt. He is a shifty ball handler that pulled up from beyond the arc several times. Very good pull up game.

[player_tooltip player_id="925227" first="Chase" last="Bonder"] (Libertyville – 2022)

Bonder had a nice showing. The Libertyville face up four was excellent shooting it from beyond the arc knocking in an array of spot up and pick/pop threes. Really good floor spacer. On the block he sealed his man off and showed a few turnaround jumpers. Touch in the paint. Also runs the floor pretty hard.

Daniel Hong (Conant – 2022)

Hong jumped on our radar earlier this fall and had another nice outing here. Plus shooter from beyond the arc hitting four of them. The crafty guard had a couple of layups, but most of his damage was done as a shooter.

Asher Jackson (Carmel – 2022)

Jackson is a big and strong two guard is a flat out bucket getter. He hunts his shot with his physical frame. Drills threes at a high clip including step backs, pull ups, and spotting up. Creative ball handler in the open floor that can take it to the rim with strength.

[player_tooltip player_id="925224" first="Nick" last="Martinelli"] (Glenbrook South – 2022)

Martinelli is a crafty combo forward similar in many respects to his older brother who is now a walk on at Northwestern. He scored in transition over and over again with nifty finishes at the cup. Very efficient as a scorer in the paint converting dump offs, getting on the glass, and scoring on post ups. Was aggressive taking it to the hoop on straight line drives with good footwork. Creativity as a passer that can play some point-forward at times.

[player_tooltip player_id="996065" first="David" last="Gieser"] (Fenwick – 2022)

Gieser is a tough and competitive two guard that is a plus shooter knocking down shots from deep. Also mixed in some nifty layups through traffic and got on the glass for a guard.

Andrew Sorenson (Libertyville – 2022)

Sorenson emerged by doing a little bit of everything. The guard had a runner, three, strong take through traffic, dump off pass, and got on the glass for a put back.

[player_tooltip player_id="939067" first="Nate" last="Kwiecinski"] (Loyola – 2023)

This Loyola combo forward has good size, solid skill level, and plays hard. Did a nice job on the glass. Ran the floor well for scores, got put backs, and scored off the bounce a couple times. Solid shooter with the chance to get even better.

[player_tooltip player_id="1056106" first="Alex" last="Engro"] (Loyola – 2023)

It wasn’t a huge weekend for Engro, but we continue to be intrigued with his combination of athleticism, projectability, and shot making as a two guard.
