Class 3A - Region 2 could be a toss up this season in our minds. Lets take a closer look at this region from the Upstate right here on Prep Hoops.

Predictions:

Blue Ridge HS - The Fighting Tigers finished (14-11) and have the top player in region back.

Southside HS (Greenville) - The Tigers finished (16-12) last season under new Head Coach Greg Scott.

Palmetto HS - How far can [player_tooltip player_id="1063828" first="Jaden" last="Young"] carry his squad this season ?

Berea HS - The Bulldogs can only go up after finishing (4-18) last season.

Powdersville HS - Life after [player_tooltip player_id="642008" first="Draylan" last="Burton"] (Campbell University) 31 ppg last season and when [player_tooltip player_id="930616" first="Kidd" last="Brizek"] moved onto Legacy Early College. The Patriots finished last season at (15-11).

Carolina HS - I really don’t know much about the Trojans program.

Players to Watch in the Region:

[player_tooltip player_id="1063828" first="Jaden" last="Young"] (2021) - Palmetto HS (Williamston)

Young will have to carry the scoring load for the Mustangs this season. Young excels in the transition game and can knockdown the open jumper on the perimeter.

Jonathan Penderman (2021) - Berea HS

Penderman averaged 12.9 ppg last season for the Bulldogs. Penderman is a multiple sport athlete for the Bulldogs.

[player_tooltip player_id="927513" first="Jemarkus" last="Boozer"] (2021) - Berea HS

Boozer was a name Prep Hoops has talked about for a few years now. Boozer played a limited amount of games last season and was really last season on the Grassroots over a year ago. Could Boozer return to the fold here ?

[player_tooltip player_id="721026" first="Justin" last="Bailey"] (2022) - Blue Ridge HS (Prep Hoops Region Player of the Year)

Bailey averaged 23.2 ppg last season for the Fighting Tigers. Bailey shot 48% (206-430) from the floor last year. Bailey is the Prep Hoops Region Player of the Year this season.

[player_tooltip player_id="594036" first="Savion" last="Brown"] (2022) - Berea HS

Brown looks to help the Bulldogs turn around from a dismal season a year ago. Brown a guard averaged 13.9 ppg last season. Could Brown, Penderman and Boozer help the Bulldogs move in the right direction ?

[player_tooltip player_id="1048144" first="Dyterrious" last="Williams"] (2022) - Southside HS (Greenville)

Williams a left-handed post player is a load down low in the paint. Williams has a soft set of hands and a thick frame to get physical.

[player_tooltip player_id="976993" first="Jakel" last="Hailstock"] (2022) - Southside HS (Greenville)

Hailstock has a great motor on the floor and looks to score the ball in transition. Hailstock always seems to be around the ball while on the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id="975134" first="Jermaurhiyun" last="Anderson"] (2024) - Southside HS (Greenville)

Anderson just a freshman is the future of Tigers basketball at Southside HS.
