Chris’s Standouts: Top 250 Expo in Nebraska
The Prep Hoops Top 250 Expo showcased some of Nebraska’s top high school basketball student-athletes going head to head. Due to pandemic restrictions, this event had no spectators yet players still managed to play at an exceptional level. The Iowa West Fieldhouse was stuffed with amazing talent on a beautiful sunny afternoon. Here are the top 5 players that stood out at The Prep Boys Nebraska Top 250.

Currently ranked #22 in Nebraska for the class of 2021, Shakeer played like he was ranked #1. He’s able to score in bunches and embodies a fearless demeanor. Marcus had numerous highlight dunks, made long-range shots, and grabbed athletic offensive rebounds. He also obtains the ability to play tough defense.

Ranked #5 in the class of 2021, Denim Johnson Denim Johnson 6'1" | CG Omaha Central | 2021 State NE is by far the most athletic choice for college recruiters recruiting out of Nebraska. Johnson is a solid ballhandler, improving shooter, and an excellent defender. He plays within the offense and seems to always find himself above the rim. Denim had a vicious tomahawk dunk and made some mid-range and long-range jump shots during the Prep Boys Top 250 Expo. If his jump shot continues improving, he has the potential to play for a major program and be an asset.

Chandler Meeks Chandler Meeks 6'1" | CG Omaha Westside | 2022 State NE is a crafty guard that can attack the rim, shoot, or be a true point guard. Meeks played solid defense the entire tournament and made sure his teammates touched the ball on offense. Chandler uses the jab-step very well to create space. He can score on or off the dribble and not only make long-range shots but mid-range shots as well. Chandler possesses excellent court vision, advanced dribbling skills, and he can finish in traffic. Meeks is currently ranked #4 in Nebraska’s class of 2022.
