With the early signing period in the books and the state of California high school basketball still in flux due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we figured now would be a good time to highlight some of the state’s available seniors. In this series we’ll provide evaluations on the best available prospects in their final season of high school competition.

[player_tooltip player_id="747082" first="Truman" last="Gettings"], Harvard-Westlake - The physical 6-foot-8 forward will help a program at the next level with his ability to compete in the painted area on both ends and his willingness to do the dirty work. Gettings has a high basketball IQ, can execute ball-screen action and finish through contact in the paint. While his face-up shooting isn’t a strength just yet, Gettings has shown that, with time and space, he can hit from 15-17 feet.

[player_tooltip player_id="680245" first="Trevan" last="Martin"], Santa Fe Christian - The 6-foot-4 off-guard is one of the toughest and most hard-nosed prospects available. Martin’s recruitment slowed a little after an injury cost him much of his junior season, but his skill-set and value at the next level remain unchanged. Martin is a big time slasher and finisher who can play both on or off the ball with his playmaking IQ and understanding of how to play without the ball in his hands.

[player_tooltip player_id="944342" first="Kyle" last="Frelow"], Heritage Christian - Frelow is a gritty and hard-working four-man whose willingness to do the little things each and every possession should put him on plenty of college radars. At 6-feet-7, Frelow is a fluid and explosive athlete with pop in his legs on his first and second jumps. Offensively, Frelow is a good transition and interior finisher who works hard on the offensive glass.

[player_tooltip player_id="680213" first="Denim" last="Dawson"], Orange Lutheran - Dawson’s frame looks the part of a prototypical Division I wing and his all-around athleticism fits that bill, as well. The 6-foot-5 wing is lightning quick end to end and can rise in traffic and finish above the rim in transition. Dawson’s length, lateral speed and quick hands make him a guy the right coach can mold into a big time perimeter defender.
