Some players get lucky and can contribute right away and some just have crazy game that gets them on the floor as soon as they can. Here are a few players that should/will contribute to help their teams.
Mason Bendinger Mason Bendinger 6'3" | CG Woods Cross | 2023 State UT (Woods Cross)
Mason had to wait his turn this past season as he could not see the floor because his team had 10 seniors on the roster. This year it is wide open for him to really make his presence felt. He had an excellent Spring/Summer and he has some bounce and a great wingspan which really helps his game. He makes tough moves and shots look easy. He is really playing with a lot of maturity. On the floor he will provide ball handling and play making ability. He will have some tough games but there is a lot of upside in him getting major minutes on the floor for his future and his development.
Micah Madry Micah Madry 6'5" | CG Hillcrest | 2023 State UT (Hillcrest)
Micah had a great offseason which he split between football and basketball but he was able to really turn some heads with the sudden development of his athletic ability. He is finishing above the rim consistently and his smoot lefty game is fun to watch. He seems to be a natural wing but he can really play all over the floor. He runs the floor well and now at 6’5 he can really stand out on the floor. Look for Micah to not only score some points this season but look for him to start and really make an impact at his school.
Phoenix McWillis Phoenix McWillis 6'2" | CG Crimson Cliffs | 2023 State UT (Crimson Cliffs)
Phoenix is that kid that you see play who looks great out there and then all of a sudden he does something spectacular like dunk on someone. The 6’2 ish guard will be running with a young core and he will be playing in an open system that lets him play. Which will enable him to be at his best. He has a nice shot but he is a slasher that is active. Look fo rhim to be effective on the break and on the boards. don’t be surprised if you see him get a put back or catch a body this season.
Chomp (Jaxson) Jones Chomp (Jaxson) Jones 6'1" | CG Desert Hills | 2023 State UT (Desert Hills)
While Jones sat out last year due to an injury his game is nice. He has all-around skill that will place him on the court. He really competes at both ends of the floor. With some open spots on his high school team he should find his way into some nice playing time. He could be a major addition to the backcourt because he can handle the ball and shoot well. Great size for his position at 6’1
Bron Roberts Bron Roberts 6'11" | SF Pleasant Grove | 2023 State UT (Timpanogos)
Everytime we get a chance to see Bron play he leaves a great impression. He is all of 6’8 too. Look for Bron to really rack up the boards at both ends of the floor. The kid can really run the floor and get out ahead or track players down in transition. Kid is long and can really alter shots. Bron will be a positive impact on his high school team.
