The competition at this event was the highest it has been and was an impressive showcase of all of the talent in the great state of Texas. Be on the lookout for the rest of my content, as I thoroughly cover this event.
Fawaz Odunbaku 2022 Guard International Leadership of Texas, Katy-
Fawaz is a quick player who is great at playing with tempo. His game is at his best when he is pushing the pace and moving the ball up the court. He is an accurate passer who creates well for his teammates. He intelligently spaces the floor on fast break opportunities and is a reliable shooting option. He is great at attacking the rim and drawing contact. He is a strong rebounder on both ends of the floor for his size. I was blown away by the fluidity and effortlessness he has to his game. I would like to see him improve as an on-ball defender and work on tightening up his ball handling. Be on the lookout for this kid to receive a major uptick in attention both on the court and from the next level.
True Hardison 2022 Guard
True is an intelligent guard who knows how to space the floor and be a reliable shooting option for his teammates along the wing and in the corner. He is great at moving without the basketball and filling in open space within the flow of a half-court offense. He is confident with his pull up jumper in the midrange. He is a good shooter atop the key, but I would like to see him work on putting the ball on the deck and driving to the basket.
Jerry Shirer 2022 Guard
Jerry is a confident ball handler who knows his way around the pick and roll. The guard seemed to always make the right read and find the open pass based on how the defense reacted. He has natural point guard instincts which allow him to pick apart defenses. I would like to see him work on his ability to score the ball from the midrange and behind the arc of the bounce, as well as being more confident when he drives to the basket.
Brady Mick 2022 Guard
Brady is a smart guard who knows how to space the floor and not overwhelm a particular side on the court. He moves well along the baseline and the wings to be a consistently open shooting option. I would like to see him develop as a weapon off the dribble. He has room to grow as a ball handler and weapon attacking the rim. The attention he will gather on his shot making ability should open up the floor tremendously for him and his team.
