There’s been a decent amount of action over the last week within the recruiting world. A couple of 2021 prospects are off the board and over a handful of offers were extended to prospects throughout the Maryland/DC area. Let’s get into it.

COMMITMENTS

2021 Parkville guard [player_tooltip player_id="775363" first="Darrius" last="Tilghman"] announced his commitment to Chestnut Hill. Tilghman is a huge addition for new head coach JJ Butler and staff as the 6-foot-4 lefty brings versatility to the Griffins’ backcourt. Tilghman can play on or off the ball, defend multiple positions and has plenty of untapped potential. His best basketball is ahead of him and I foresee Tilghman putting together a very productive career up in Philadelphia.

Even though he transferred out of state, I still felt obligated to include 2021 forward [player_tooltip player_id="902005" first="Zaakir" last="Williamson"] and his commitment to Buffalo. The 6-foot-7 forward provides a big-body presence and will spend his senior season suiting up for Neumann Goretti (PA).

OFFERS

2021 Good Counsel/DC Premier guard [player_tooltip player_id="712742" first="Bez" last="Mbeng"] added another offer from University of Texas at San Antonio. Upping his total offer number to eight, it’ll be interesting to see how long Mbeng holds off on making his commitment. We’ve seen a historic number of rising seniors commit this past spring and summer with the uncertainty of a high school season. As more schools come into play with Mbeng, it could mean for a delay on his decision.

2021 St. Maria Goretti/Global Squad guard [player_tooltip player_id="836500" first="Vincent" last="Payne"] received an offer from Shepherd. He now holds two Division II offers with plenty more keeping close tabs. Several Division III programs are involved with the 6-foot-2 sharpshooting guard as well.

2022 Poly/Team Thrill guard [player_tooltip player_id="777095" first="Bryce" last="Lindsay"] received his first ACC offer from Virginia Tech. Since then, Pittsburgh has also reached out to Lindsay and I don’t see the list of schools from that conference slowing down. The 6-foot-3 point guard has proven his worth as a floor general with his play this spring and summer. As a result, Austin Peay, Bryant, Georgetown, George Mason, Howard, La Salle, Mount St. Mary’s and VCU.

2022 Sidwell Friends/Team Takeover forward [player_tooltip player_id="777068" first="George" last="Perkins"] received an offer from Rice. Perkins is a high-ceiling prospect who garnered attention from high majors this summer as he holds offers from George Washington, Howard, La Salle, Maryland, VCU and Virginia Tech.

2023 Poly/Team Durant forward [player_tooltip player_id="957019" first="Kwame" last="Evans"] continues to stockpile his offers and added to the list with Illinois. The 6-foot-8 southpaw is regarded as a top-10 prospect nationally for the class of 2023. He boasts 17 offers in total from a variety of schools within power five conferences.

2024 St. Frances/Team Thrill guard Daquan Davis received an offer from Siena. The 5-foot-10 guard has yet to step on a high school floor for an official game, but already holds offers from Howard and South Alabama to go with his latest. Davis is a promising prospect who plays with toughness well beyond his years. Look for his list to grow quickly if we get a decent slate of games for the 2020-21 season.
