Looking ahead to 2020-21, Prep Hoops Wisconsin examines five teams who are poised to drastically improve their records from last season.

Appleton East

2019-20 Record: 4-18

The Patriots have to replace leading scorer [player_tooltip player_id="811064" first="Evan" last="Glaser"], but there’s plenty of reason for optimism. East has one of the best backcourt in the Fox Valley Association in [player_tooltip player_id="988704" first="Zach" last="Steigenberger"] (11.4 ppg) and [player_tooltip player_id="801152" first="Tyler" last="Borowski"] (9.6 ppg) who are entering their junior seasons and each had strong summers. Junior forward [player_tooltip player_id="865861" first="Cade" last="Feldhausen"] (5.5) also gives the Patriots a strong and versatile post presence.

Appleton North

2019-20 Record: 8-15

Another riser in the Fox Valley Association, the Lightning were a young team in 2019-20 that still managed to beat both Neenah and Hortonville. Junior forward [player_tooltip player_id="801136" first="Maximus" last="Nelson"] (16.8 ppg) is back after a breakout season. Sophomore guard [player_tooltip player_id="981152" first="Trent" last="Mullen"] (4.6 ppg) could be one of the most improved players in the league as well. Senior guard Anders Brekke (4.8 ppg) and junior wing [player_tooltip player_id="1029760" first="Brock" last="Donaldson"] (2.4 ppg) should provide some nice depth as well.

Cedarburg

2019-20 Record: 14-9

The Bulldogs were competitive in a very competitive North Shore Conference last season. Now, the Bulldogs will reload with one of the best 1-2 punches in the state. Purdue football commit [player_tooltip player_id="879984" first="Drew" last="Biber"] (20.3 ppg) has added some major help in the form of Brookfield Academy transfer [player_tooltip player_id="879982" first="Logan" last="Landers"].

Menonomee Falls

2019-20 Record: 10-14

All that talent that Falls has stockpiled over the last two seasons is now starting to grow up. A Greater Metro Conference title is probably out of reach, but this team can be very explosive in 2020-21. Top five juniors [player_tooltip player_id="801135" first="Steven" last="Clay"] (21.3 ppg) and [player_tooltip player_id="1129756" first="Seth" last="Trimble"] (20.0 ppg) are both back this season. Between [player_tooltip player_id="801159" first="Greg" last="Kemp"], [player_tooltip player_id="865843" first="Grant" last="Martin"], and a few other sleepers, Falls is a team that nobody will look forward to playing.

Waukesha West

2019-20 Record: 13-12

This team was playing some really good ball towards the end of the season. West was supposed to go through a rebuilding year in 2019-20, but still won 13 games, including a 9-7 mark in a loaded Classic Eight Conference. Valparaiso commit [player_tooltip player_id="830582" first="Cameron" last="Palesse"]e (24.5 ppg) is back, as is pretty much all of his supporting cast.
