DBA Elite has a good group of 2024 prospects who should make an impact during their debut varsity seasons. Here are the top 2024 prospects to keep an eye on from the DBA Elite session yesterday.
Anthony Lanza Anthony Lanza 5'10" | PG Elizabeth | 2024 NJ , 5’10 PG Elizabeth
The Minutemen are filled with solid guard talent, but Lansa has the opportunity to get minutes from the beginning. The 5’10 guard was vocal throughout the practice, calling for the ball in transition and talking on defense. Lansa ran the floor hard in the fullcourt drills and fought for every rebound during the 11-man break drill. He is a good passer and can get to the basket. Lansa may have to wait behind Al-Fatir Connor Al-Fatir Connor 6'0" | PG Elizabeth | 2021 State NJ and Evan Perez Evan Perez 5'10" | PG Elizabeth | 2021 State NJ , but his toughness and defense could get him a shot to get minutes.
Jaden Barnett, 5’10 PG Elizabeth
The second Minutemen player on the list, Barnett had a strong session at DBA Elite. The 5’10 guard has a smooth handle and does not get rattled by on-ball pressure. Barnett made several good passes in transition and can finish around the basket. He knows how to move his feet on the defensive end and is an underrated rebounder. Barnett is a skilled guard prospect who should have a promising career for Elizabeth.
Jake O’Grady, 6’5 PF Hopewell Valley
O’Grady had a solid showing at the DBA Elite session and should have a strong debut season for Hopewell Valley. The lanky 6’5 forward did well in the hostage 1-on-1 drills as he showed the ability to keep defenders on his hip. O’Grady can handle the ball on the perimeter and knocked down a couple of jumpers during the practice. He uses his length to alter shots around the rim and can rip down rebounds on both ends of the floor. O’Grady may take some lumps early in his freshman season, but his combination of length and skill gives him the opportunity to have a strong freshman campaign.
Jack Rial, 5’11 PG Manalapan
Rial had a good session at DBA Elite as he proved his ability to make plays on both ends of the floor. The 5’11 guard has a smooth handle and is capable of breaking his defender down off the bounce. Riyal has a nice release on his jumper and can knock down perimeter jumpers. He played tough defense during the hostage 1-on-1 drills as he was able to get around his man and get stops. Riyal is a tough guard prospect who should get minutes for Manalapan this season.
Myles Marabuto, PG Monroe
Marabuto consistently made plays throughout the DBA Elite session and could make an impact for the Hawks. He made smooth passes throughout the session, especially in transition. Marabuto has a good handle and was able to get by his man with consistency. He has a good release on his jumper and played tough on-ball defense. Marabuto is a skilled all-around guard who should give Monroe quality minutes this season.
