Gabe Pickens 5’10 PG Millennium – Picken’s poise is what stood out to me the most. On a talented Millennium team, he fits right in. He displayed a solid handle along with a knack for getting the ball in the hands of playmakers for the team. He needs to work on his outside shot, and get a little stronger but he looks like a potential prospect of some level right now.
Jaleel Moore 5’8 PG San Tan (featured image) – Moore was one of the top on-ball defenders I saw this weekend. He played with relentless energy while hounding opposing ballhandlers. He’s very quick, and plays consistently at a fast tempo. My suggestion for him would be to slow down a little if only to give him the opportunity to change up speeds. His ceiling will depend on if he grows, and can improve his outside shot.
Emanuel Reed 5’10 PG Sierra Vista – I only got to see Reed briefly in person, however, I did see him play quite a bit on film. I liked his handle. Reed didn’t take a ton of outside shots, but he did show good determination while making strong drives to the basket. Like most on this list, he needs to improve his outside shooting, however, he played with good confidence despite being one of the least experienced players on the floor.
Ashan Huff 6’4 SF Vanden – Huff is a good looking prospect with long arms. I liked his activity as he did a good job of pursuing rebounds and challenging shots. For him, he’s going to have to hit the weight room and improve his overall perimeter skills. As a 6’4 freshmen, however, he has a lot of upside.
Alijah Adem Alijah Adem 6'2" | PG Spring Valley | 2024 State #174 Nation NV 6’0 PG Spring Valley (#7PHN 2024) – Adem was sneaky good this weekend. He played with terrific confidence and unlike other young players on the list, shooting is not an issue. He was able to make shots both in catch and shoot situations and off the bounce. His improvement will come as he gets stronger and continues to increase his overall athletic ability.
