National signing day is still a month away but schools are still fighting over talent, looking for talent, and need to find talent. Who is available in the Midwest? Here is our list of players.

Here are the ten available best players in The Midwest Region (Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, and South Dakota).

(1) [player_tooltip player_id="532574" first="Chet" last="Holmgren"] (7’0 Center from Minnehaha Academy). Chet is the number one ranked player in the nation. But he’s also one of the best in the classroom when it comes to hoopers. Chet will have his pick of just about wherever he wants to go next spring including the professional option.

(2) [player_tooltip player_id="773443" first="Hunter" last="Sallis"] (6’4 Combo Guard from Millard North). Sallis has the size to play the wing but the skills to run a team. And just about every program in the nation wants Sallis to run their team. The experts out there think Sallis is headed to Kentucky and that could be, but his back-up option of, everyone isn’t a bad one either.

(3) [player_tooltip player_id="583707" first="Aminu" last="Mohammed"] (6’5 Shooting Guard from Greenwood Laboratory School, Missouri). Mohammed is a 5-star top 15-20 level player in the nation with a long list of offers that includes Indiana, Maryland, Louisville, Georgetown, and Kansas State.

(4) [player_tooltip player_id="890479" first="Saint" last="Thomas"] (6’6 Small Forward from Millard North HS, Nebraska). Thomas is versatile and he’s tough. It’s a combination that has him nationally ranked in the top 200-250 area with offers from Mississippi State, VCU, TCU, Virginia Tech, SMU, New Mexico, and Richmond among others.

(5) Nick Kern (6’5 Small Forward from Vashon HS, Missouri). Kern is a top 250-300 level national wing out of Saint Louis that has picked up high major offers from DePaul, VCU, TCU, Saint Louis, and others. Kern has been aggressively scoring all summer including some excellent showcase performances recently.

[caption id="attachment_1021623" align="alignright" width="150"] [player_tooltip player_id="994434" first="Sekou" last="Gassama"][/caption]

(6) [player_tooltip player_id="994434" first="Sekou" last="Gassama"] (6’10 PF/C from DeSmet HS, Missouri). It’s the potential of Gassama that has led to some high major offers and a lot of high major interest in the past. Schools need size, especially one that Prep Hoops analyst Scott Burgess describes as a “mobile four that can take it from mid-post and has tremendously long arms to around defenders and get his shot off inside.”

(7) [player_tooltip player_id="730611" first="Alston" last="Mason"] (6’1 Point guard from Blue Valley Northwest HS, Kansas). High major programs in need of a point guard are reaching out to Alston right now. Mason recently earned offers from Nebraska and Florida International. Mason is one of the quickest guards you will see in this class.

(8) [player_tooltip player_id="532569" first="Andre" last="Gray"] II (6’3 SG from Minneapolis North HS, Minnesota). Andre had a tremendous summer with Grassroots Sizzle showcasing an ability to be a go-to wing scorer. Gray has the athletic ability to be a slasher and defensive game changer, but he’s not hitting threes at a high 30s/low 40s rate as well. Has four D1 offers and I’d expect more to come.

(9) [player_tooltip player_id="680229" first="Hercy" last="Miller"] (6’3 Combo Guard from Minnehaha Academy HS, Minnesota). Miller transferred to Minnesota in the winter and instantly became a starter playing 14 games. A few high major offers came his way and we were curious how things would go in the summer but Miller only played in one event. He was back on the court last weekend in the NY2LA event and played well.

(10) [player_tooltip player_id="796127" first="Landon" last="Wolf"] (6’5 Combo Guard from Cedar Falls HS, Iowa). Wolf has a great combination of size and skill in a backcourt position. He’s got a 6-foot-8 wingspan that can annoy on defense and he’s well coached at a good high school program. Excellent shooter with a great feel for the game which is why he has six D1 offers.

(11) [player_tooltip player_id="774735" first="Davon" last="Townley Jr"] (6’6 PF from Minneapolis North HS, Minnesota). Townley has 3-4 D1 offers on the court but he’s one of the top football prospect in the nation with offers from some of the best schools in the country. Tennesee has offered in both sports.

(12) [player_tooltip player_id="890463" first="Denim" last="Johnson"] (6’1 PG from Omaha Central HS, Nebraska). One of the most explosive available guards is Demim Johnson, an Omaha talent that players simply can’t move with. Johnson averaged 16 points, eight rebounds, five assists, two steals, and two blocks a game as a junior.

(13) [player_tooltip player_id="567037" first="Joshua" last="Streit"] (6’8 PF from Eden Valley-Watkins). Streit has picked up offers from five different D1 schools. Josh can play whatever role you need him to. We’ve seen him be a go-to scorer that led his team to wins as a 16u talent, Josh led his high school to a 27-2 record as a double-double high post threat with the offense going through him, and he played the worker role for D1 Minnesota this summer, one of the elite teams in the nation. He does what you want and he does it well.

(14) [player_tooltip player_id="599759" first="Joe" last="Berry"] (6’4 Shooting Guard from Washburn Rural HS, Kansas). [player_tooltip player_id="599759" first="Joe" last="Berry"] is an aggressive that comes at opponents in constant full force. He’s an explosive player that comes down hill hard, has the work ethic coaches really like. Army has offered.

(15) [player_tooltip player_id="890462" first="Ajantae" last="Hogan"] (6’4 Combo Guard from Lincoln Southwest HS, Nebraska).

(16) [player_tooltip player_id="824117" first="Brock" last="Wakefield"] (6’3 Shooting Guard from South Iron HS, Missouri)

(17) [player_tooltip player_id="957132" first="Xavier" last="White"] (6’7 Forward from Hopkins HS, Minnesota).

(18) [player_tooltip player_id="945976" first="Danair" last="Dempsey"] (6’6 Power Forward from Papillion-LaVista South)

(19) [player_tooltip player_id="796111" first="Caleb" last="Schlaak"] (6’7 Small Forward from Kennedy HS, Iowa).

(20) [player_tooltip player_id="889452" first="Lonell" last="Lane"] (6’1 Guard from JC Harmon HS, Kansas).

Best Available Per State

Iowa: [player_tooltip player_id="796127" first="Landon" last="Wolf"] (6’5 Combo Guard from Cedar Falls).

Kansas: [player_tooltip player_id="730611" first="Alston" last="Mason"] (6’1 Point guard from Blue Valley Northwest).

Minnesota: [player_tooltip player_id="532574" first="Chet" last="Holmgren"] (7’0 Center from Minnehaha Academy)

Missouri: [player_tooltip player_id="583707" first="Aminu" last="Mohammed"] (6’6 Shooting Guard from Greenwood Laboratory School).

Nebraska: [player_tooltip player_id="773443" first="Hunter" last="Sallis"] (6’4 Combo Guard from Millard North).

North Dakota: William Obioha (6’6 Small Forward from Grand Forks Red River). This summer we were looking forward to seeing William play for ECI as his physical abilities are exactly the type that division one schools want on the wing. However, because of covid concerns Obioha didn’t play this summer so schools didn’t see him.

South Dakota: [player_tooltip player_id="757825" first="Tyler" last="Feldkamp"] (6’0 Point Guard from Sioux Falls Roosevelt). Feldkamp is one of the top available wide receiver prospects in the Midwest with offers from a handful of FCS schools and a number of Northern Sun D2 programs. He’s also the type of point guard that a D2 program would love to have running their team.
