It also featured several guys with the ability to consistently knock down shots. In this article, PH takes a look at the top shooters from the event.
Damian Ruiz Damian Ruiz 6'2" | SG Linfield Christian | 2022 State CA-S 6’2 SG La Murrieta Valley 2022 (#74PHSC 2022) – Whenever Ruiz is in the building, just know that one of the best snipers on the west coast is here. He showed off his usual quick release and deadly stroke from behind the 3 point line. He also splashed in a little mid-range as well. When he got his feet set it was almost a surprise when the ball didn’t go in.
Garrett Rogers Garrett Rogers 5'11" | PG Columbine | 2021 State CO 5’11 PG Columbine 2021 (#84PHC 2021) – The Colorado native was one of the more intriguing players at the camp. I’ll be honest, he does not pass the eye test, however, when you see him play, that all goes out the window. He was automatic in catch and shoots and despite being a shade under 6 feet, he shot it effortlessly from deep.
Isaiah Zunic 6’2 SG Oak Grove Classical – The lefty has a smooth stroke and a quick release. His all-around game isn’t bad either. When he was able to get his feet set, his shot was automatic from behind the line.
Anthony-Lamar Wilcox Anthony-Lamar Wilcox 5'8" | PG Skyline Prep | 2024 AZ 5’6 PG Maricopa 2023 – Wilcox certainly does not lack for confidence. The young guard played with a shoot em up and leave the bodies in the street mentality. He buried several long-range 3’s on the day. He was at his best when in catch and shoot situations, however, he did show the ability to create space and lift from behind the line.
Jamison Kay Jamison Kay 6'5" | SF Gila Ridge | 2021 State AZ 6’5 SG Gila Ridge 2021 (#39PHA 2021) (featured image) – Kay put in a nice mixture of 3’s and mid-range. He has a smooth release and his size allowed him to look over the top of most of his defenders. He likes to dribble into his shot but showed he can also be accurate in catch and shoot situations as well.
Jordan Stevens Jordan Stevens 6'2" | SF Gila Ridge | 2022 State AZ 6’2 SG Gila Ridge (#109PHA 2021) – Not sure if it was an anomaly or a byproduct of Stevens working on his game, but he was one of the best shooters at the Expo. Showed a quick release and was able to shoot it with range. He hit multiple 3’s in multiple games and looked nothing like the 22% 3 point shooter he was during the regular season.
