The 2024 class is full of talented players headlined by Bergen Catholic’s [player_tooltip player_id="1046909" first="Elliot" last="Cadeau"]. The lead guard position is loaded, but so is the wing position. The shooting guards and small forwards in 2024 have the potential to make an impact at the next level. Here are the top wings in the 2024 class.

[player_tooltip player_id="902746" first="Naasir" last="Cunningham"], 6’6 SG/SF Gill St. Bernard’s

The Knights need help on the wing with [player_tooltip player_id="850339" first="Will" last="Soucie"]’s graduation and they got it in Cunningham. The lanky 6’6 wing is creative with the ball in his hands and can score at all three levels. Cunningham can beat his defender off the bounce, pull up in transition and make it rain from behind the arc. He is an underrated passer and is capable of running the offense in a pinch. Cunningham is a talented wing who should have a strong debut season for Gill St. Bernard’s.

[player_tooltip player_id="1050391" first="Tarik" last="Watson"], 6’7 SF/PF Don Bosco Prep

Watson may be more of a combo forward, but he has the skillset to play on the perimeter. The 6’7 forward has a strong frame which he uses to finish through contact. Watson can put the ball on the floor and is capable of knocking down perimeter jumpers. He uses his athleticism to challenge shots around the basket and skies for rebounders. Older brother [player_tooltip player_id="850753" first="Akil" last="Watson"] may get more minutes on the perimeter, but the younger Watson will definitely make an impact for Don Bosco Prep on the wing.

[player_tooltip player_id="902739" first="Qing" last="Fang Pang"], 6’8 SF/PF St. Benedict’s

Another combo forward, Fang Pang has the ability to make an impact for the Grey Bees right away. The 6’8 forward has a nice touch around the basket and does not mind contact. Fang Pang can handle the ball on the perimeter and is working on his range. He works hard on the glass and uses his length to alter shots around the rim. St. Benedict’s is talented on the wing, but Fang Pang has the skillset to have a strong freshman season.

[player_tooltip player_id="1050401" first="Andrew" last="Buck"], 6’2 SG Ranney

Buck may play more on the ball at the next level, but he will start his varsity career on the wing. The 6’2 guard has a good handle and can get into the lane. Buck has a nice release on his jumper and his range extends past the three-point line. He is a good passer and knows how to move his feet on the defensive end. Buck’s ability to make plays with the ball should give him minutes for Ranney in his debut varsity season.

[player_tooltip player_id="1050413" first="Elijah" last="Brown"], 6’3 SG St. Augustine

The Hermits need to replace Elmarko Jackson and Brown has the ability to do so. The 6’3 wing knows how to get to the rim and does not mind contact. Brown is more than just a slasher as he has a good release on his jumper and can knock down jumpers from the perimeter. He is an underrated passer and is a solid on-ball defender. Brown is a skilled wing prospect who should get minutes right away for St. Augustine in 2020-21.
