The small forward class in the state of North Carolina is full of size and versatility following the summer update. Here’s a look at the Top 10 Small Forward prospects in the 2022 North Carolina rankings.

[player_tooltip player_id="577848" first="Elijah" last="Gray"] | 6’8 | Ardrey Kell

Gray is slow emerging as a high-major prospect after producing 6.8 ppg and 3.6 rpg at Carmel Christian as a sophomore. Since then, he’s grown into a versatile forward that can find his shot on the perimeter and in the paint using his length and athleticism. He’ll be a breakout name in the HoopState in a loaded Ardrey Kell rotation in 2020-21. He holds offers from Old Dominion, Tulsa, East Carolina, Cleveland State, USC Upstate and Elon.

[player_tooltip player_id="577871" first="Avion" last="Pinner"] | 6’7 | Riverside-Martin

Pinner is another versatile forward prospect that isn’t afraid to venture to the paint or the perimeter depending on matchups and strategy. He’s got nice length and quickness for his size that allows him to get to the rim and finish with authority. On the perimeter, he can knock down the 3-ball and operate as a mid-range shooter with ease. He’s another name due to grow in the HoopState with an offer from East Carolina.

[player_tooltip player_id="932088" first="Anthony" last="Sellars"] | 6’7 | Moravian Prep

Sellars will be a new face in the Moravian Prep rotation after appearing with Wilson Prep where he excelled as a post presence. Since then, he’s grown into a prospect that can face up on the wing, get downhill and finish with authority. He’ll be a name in the frontcourt to watch alongside newcomer [player_tooltip player_id="577884" first="Corneilous" last="Williams"]. He holds offers from Old Dominion, Winthrop, High Point and Tulsa.

[player_tooltip player_id="787676" first="Daniel" last="Sanford"] | 6’5 | Vance

Sanford is an emerging force in the Vance frontcourt that’s due for a boost with some departures in their rotation. He’s strong forward that likes to rebound and battle in the paint while maintaining a presence on the perimeter as well as a defender. When he gets the ball on the offense, he’s like a freight train attacking the rim with the athleticism and strength to finish with authority. He holds offers from South Florida, Winthrop, Tennessee, Charlotte and Western Carolina.

[player_tooltip player_id="848068" first="Aaron" last="Murphy"] | 6’5 | Greenfield

Murphy is a versatile prospect that’s relentless getting to his spots inside the arc and finishing with efficiency, something he did all year long in 2019-20 with JH Rose. He put up 19.4 ppg, 8.4 rpg, 2.4 apg and 1.6 spg while shooting 56 percent from the field and 41 percent from 3-point range (25-of-61). He’ll be a new face to watch in the Greenfield rotation in 2020-21.

[player_tooltip player_id="787668" first="Davis" last="Molnar"] | 6’5 | Terry Sanford

Molnar is an emerging small forward prospect that can compete on both ends given his size and shooting prowess. He posted 14.0 ppg, 8.4 rpg, 5.7 aph, 2.1 spg and 1.1 bpg in the Terry Sanford lineup as a sophomore and is due for a big jump in his recruitment entering his junior season. He holds an offer from Campbell.

[player_tooltip player_id="577844" first="Shane" last="Fernald"] | 6’7 | Lake Norman Christian

Fernald is a prospect that can handle the ball like a guard while still maintaining his forward-prowess, making him a matchup nightmare in the making. He’ll be a featured name in the rotation given his ability to find ways to contribute on both ends. He did well as a sophomore at Hickory Ridge, putting up 9.5 ppg, 6.6 rpg and 1.4 bpg in the rotation.

[player_tooltip player_id="848089" first="Collin" last="Tanner"] | 6’6 | South Granville

Tanner will be a name to know in the South Granville rotation alongside Louisville-bound guard [player_tooltip player_id="838016" first="Bobby" last="Pettiford"] Jr. He was a key reserve off the bench in 2019-20 with his ability to rebound the ball and knock down the 3-ball with efficiency. He averaged 11.3 ppg and 4.2 rpg while shooting 40 percent (63-of-156) from behind the arc for the Vikings as a sophomore. Look for him to have a breakout season in 2020-21.

[player_tooltip player_id="577842" first="Jeremy" last="Dixon"] | 6’5 | Kinston

Dixon played sparingly in the Kinston rotation in 2019-20, producing 5.1 ppg but he’s due for a boost in his role with some departures in their rotation for the upcoming season. He’s a wiry, athletic wing prospect that can rebound in bunches and finish above the rim. As he proves he can be a consistent presence on both ends, look for his name to grow in this class.
